In response to bannable polls

Some of the polls that were posted over the past few days were entirely out of fun, and people seemed to enjoy joking around about who would win if batman fought superman or what peanut butter they preferred or whatever.

These are general discussion forums. It feels like 1984 or Equilibrium where any attempt at having fun is a serious offense punishable by death, or in this case, getting banned.

The threads are titled "Poll" and should a person think these are stupid, they have every right to not click on the thread. How long is it going to take before we have to PM an admin with a request to make even a simple thread?

Will this thread get locked and have me banned simply because I was stating my opinion on the matter? It's just crazy that some people take these forums so seriously. I'm reminded of why I stopped reading these forums when they split. It's a bit nerve-racking to be too scared to post my opinion for fear of getting banned.

Anyways, I'm done ranting.

And no you wont get banned for this. Usually people get banned for major asshattery and/or personal attacks on admins.

I didn't like the superman/batman one personally, and I think that's where it gets to be a gray line on what's good and what isn't. Although I don't think anyone can top the 'shave your box?' poll
