I had high hopes for Hostel 1, went and saw it and almost left it was so bad. The first half is nothing but a bad story and trashy naked girls, and the second half is a bad gore flick that cant even pull that off right. Hostel 2 looks even worse.

I love nakedness, and I love gore, youd figure the movie would rock with both in one flick, but sadly no. I did like the ending though.

I guess some people are pretty easy to please movie wise, honestly this movie isn't worth the time, it's mainly because they hyped and advertised the movie completely WRONG, they had it out like some all out action movie (kinda like Crank) but it failed, wasn't long enough to build the characters up enough so when they did or didn't die we'd care about them, they tried to have meaningful monologs but fail because they talk complete bullshit.

Only good part of the movie was that lesbian with the fucking anti-aircraft sniper lol

hostel was awful...how can anyone like that movie. i'm more interested in that double feature or whatever from terintino/rodriguez. smokin aces was ok, i cant stand ryan renyolds however, was hoping he would die.

Wasn't bad, but definetely not good.

Overall, too many actors, too many quick-edits to reveal information that the audience has already figured out. (I mean, how many times did they show that FBI agent discuss his plastic surgery--I counted 4--once would have been enough) The camera work was gritty, with unnecessary closeups on actors' faces when they've really just got nothing informative to say. I also was confused on how to judge this movie; It went from a comedy, to an action film, to trying to go for an oscar-- a man's rectum is chewed through by his own chainsaw in one scene, and in the next we have ryan reynolds frustrated with the ongoings of FBI, accompanied by a song I think I heard once in saving private ryan. Stellar.

However, The thing that got me irritated off the bat, was the million dollar bounty. I was like, that's it? And they want them to cut out his heart? I understand a lower price tag would attract more filth, and hey, maybe that was the point-- but the overabundance of stupid characters, both among the assassins and just 'regular' characters, just about killed it for me. The conan o brian lookalike henchmen was too stupid.. I hate when writers put in dumb characters to make normal characters seem more like smarter people. I understand the world has an overabundance of stupid people in it, but, STOP USING THEM AS A GUISE TO MAKE YOUR NORMAL, BLAND, RIPPED OFF CHARACTERS SEEM LIKE SMART ONES.

All the bounty hunters suck, except for one, imo. The 2 lesbian girl sniper/recon team was entertaining, however it slowly turned into a waste of film time, with the grandeur conclusion of that sidestory being one of the girls choosing cock over rug-- But, that's the only thing that wasn't unneeded, many of the other plot lines were pointless, like ben affleck's side story. The three insane bounty hunters were sort of annoying, and seeing a 12 year old's boner was sort of.. well, you get the picture; not needed, not wanted.

However, there is one character that did a great job imo, and that was the lawyer played by Arrested Development's main man. This guy needs more screen time and more roles, he steals the scenes in everything he's in.

Could have been better, but, like I said, it's not bad, but it sure isn't great. Just so so cliche, and so so wannabe.
