    Claiming Kings in a differnt way?

    Hey guys, I read a lot and barely post but reading all this stuff about kings and SE saying their not doing anything about them got me thinking. The biggest problem i think everyone has is the botting and just getting a claim on them is more of a pain than the actual fight. So here is my idea, feel free to totally bash it if it sounds that bad, I just thought it may be a new perspective to put out there.

    Well, lets take faf for example, he pops, bot claims him, hes dead. How bout instead when he pops he cant be fought for a specific time period, say 2-3min, by any alliance in zone. Ok point of this is after this time is up, whichever alliance did most damage to him takes claim and all other pts drop off hate list.

    Faf's HP obviously couldnt be actually lowered during this time cause that would just make the fight for claiming pt easier. Also, Faf def couldnt be able to flail during this time. Some people may say this would give an unfair advantage to a full alliance over only 8 people trying to claim, but with current claim system the more you have the better your chances are. Or you could go as far as taking the average dmg per player for claim so that it evens the playing field a bit.

    Other problems that may come up, hate.... and blm zerging it. Best i can think of is that Faf's magic resistance could build a lot faster during this period to keep people from doing this.

    Also lag, everyone in my server stand on hi feet anyways so i dont see it changing lag that much.

    Anyways the whole point of my idea is to give everyone a "chance" to claim and only groups that actually have skill can claim it. It may make people used different strats on claim other than just using a bot. Anyways, its just a start of an idea, thought I should put it out there and let you guys build on it or tear it apart. Looking forward to comments.....

    damn, yeah didn think of that one. i just thought it would be nice to actually "fight" for claim..... oh well

    I do think rage timers should be reworked, however.

    Instead of an hour + buildup time, it should be based on how much damage you do in the first 10 minutes.

    If Fafhogg is still above 90% after 10 minutes, he goes instarage. Even the newbiest of LSs can do 10% in the first 10 minutes. The only people that don't are the ones who are holding until more people arrive.

    There could also be more "checkpoints", say:

    90% by 10 minutes or insta-rage (no buildup at all)
    70% by 20 minutes or 5 min buildup rage (halted by passing 70%)
    50% by 30 minutes or 5 min buildup rage (halted by passing 50%)
    25% by 40 minutes or 10 min buildup rage (halted by passing 25%)
    0% by 60 minutes or 10 min buildup rage (halted by killing it)

    I like this cause counting down the timer till rage can be as exciting as watching grass. This would put a speed up on things.

    HNM's should choose their own targets.

    They'd be a thousand times nastier if the monster had it's own priority and massively reduced aggro sources from other types.

    Imagine a monster that considered mages good eating and would target them for TP attacks and the like, regardless of who's at the top of the hatelist.

    Or recovered from killing off characters. Raged from taking too much damage too quickly (hi2uKrakenDRK), or even fled (do YOU want to chase Fafnir and eat that Spike Flail? I think not.) from combat for a time.

    lol, on asura its the lses that dont camp that often that kill in 10-15 mins, the lses that camp every day take 45 mins

    I don't think even new HNMLSs take more than 10 min to get Fafhogg from 100->90% if they're actually trying from the moment they get claim.

    they should let hnms be controlled.

    or let me control them. i'd be turning around and spamming flail every time i get 100 tp.

    What if you have 18 but someone claimed a darter? You are sleeping faf and /assisting a PS2 person to get them killed before you can go back to faf. Then even a strong LS would take a bit to shave off the first 10%.
