Getting stuck at "Acquiring player data"

After clicking the "Play" button it jumps into full screen mode and shows the status bar but I've been getting stuck at "Acquiring player data" and then after a few minutes it would say "protocol error"

I've had a friend log on me to see it was only me and it is D:

Yesterday I received my laptop and vista was the only choice I had so I had to follow special instructions that included copying my Playonline folder over, if that helps diagnose my problem.

I found out why... was my gay linksys router...
