how do I get 3 chests? we seem to get the cap surprised, but we always only get 2? Do we have to pull the cap out of the room without the monkey seeing?

If you sneak attack properly the captain will say "Ugh... What!?!?" If he says anything else you screwed something up.

You dont need to use SA just need hit him and dont miss. When you miss him you get only 2 Chests.

Imp will rotate like Zdei in sea, I always pull them from behind with a normal hit, then run outside. I'm not sure if it matter tho, I thought it was simply the "horn" move that must not be used inside the ship.

2nd chest is from captain.

3rd chest is from the captain again, but only when you sneaked him. It's easy to do without flee or sneak attack, i did it succesfully on war/nin 7-8 times (in as many attempt).

The best way to sneak him is to engage him from as far as you can, get as close as you can without aggroing the monkey (can take a few step in the room). When the monkey pass in front of you, rush toward the captain, hit it then run back. If the captain unaggro and run back to his room, it's not gonna count as "sneaking him", you have to hold him while you fight the monkey (easiest way is to run around the big stair outside and blink tank his arrow).

Wish sushi and aggressor, I've around 85-90% accuracy I think. Considering I hit at least 2 times (or more with ridill/double attack), it's almost guaranteed that I get a hit. I also tried using mistral axe to sneak him and it works.

the video linked above shows that aggro was not kept on the captian yet they gained all 3 chest? something doesn't add up here.

Is it possible you don't need to keep aggro?
