Right now i'm running a 2 monitor setup, a Dell 22inch with 800:1 contrast and a samsung 710n with 600:1 contrast.
At first i didn't notice much, FFXI felt great on the new 22inch dell and so did everything else. I use the samsung for basically everything but games; internet, aim, msn, pretty much anything i'm multitasking while playing WoW or FFXI. I started to see the difference in color when I would take a screenshot on FF and open it on the samsung, the colors would be totally different... and when I reinstalled wow this week and put it on windowed fullscreen mode, it used the desktop gamma of the dell... well needless to say the game looked like utter shit.
So I started messing around with the color settings on the monitors themselves, and on the nvidia control panel. Basically what i'm seeing is the samsung is getting much much nicer darker colors... Everything seems to look the way it wants to, or should on it, as if thats how the settings should be. I can't get the dell even close, it's driving me crazy.
Does anyone know any programs or anything I can do to get them closer? I was thinking of basically just buying a 2nd dell monitor, but i'm afraid the colors are going to be nasty and not as nice as they should be... that i'm going to regret replacing my samsung completely because of how everything looks on it.
I found this: http://www.colorvision.com/product-mc-s2e.php
and for the price, I would definitely buy that before buying another whole monitor, or even for help when I do upgrade the samsung to get the best out of the monitors. Right now the dell is hooked up via DVI and the Samsung is using the standard blue analog VGA i think it is, i'm going to try swapping them later. I honestly think the dell should look much better than it is, but I can't return it now unless I can find a warrentied defect.
Anyone have experience with this? Or with a Dell monitor that they've worked with and made the colors better? Has anyone ever used that Spyder product? lol... hope you guys can save me from spending another $300-400, thanks in advance!
