    Dualbox Fomor Codex Farming

I would like to get a swift belt for my second character. Considering how hard it can be to track them down in bazaars, and since I would rather not spend the cash, I have been toying with the idea of farming some codexes up.

    Jobs relevant to this endeavor.

    Septimus- RDM 75, WAR 75, WHM 42, BLM 40, NIN 40, THF 40, DRK 40
    Atumre- WHM 75, BRD 68, BLM 54, NIN 12(lol)

Idea one- Ninjitsu-fest '07. Go into Phomiuna Aqueducts as NIN 40/THF 20 with either BRD or WHM support.

Pros- very efficient way to kill, have placebo... Err... Treasure Hunter effect.
Cons- I suck at blink tanking and don't want to die to all of the annoying weapon skills.

Idea two- Blow 'em up. Go into Phomiuna Aqueducts as two BLM 40/WHM 20 and use the nuke-sleep technique to blow things up.

Pros- easy to avoid death gaze when you are running in terror for your life.
Cons- no placebo... Err... Treasure Hunter effect.

Idea three- Blow 'em up: the Next Generation. Go into Sacrarium as RDM 50/BLM or WHM 25 and BLM 50/ WHM 25 and use the sleep nuke technique to blow things up nice and good.

Pros- also easy to avoid death gaze, ancient magic is pretty.
    Cons- no placebo.

So, which of these options would be best, am I missing an option, or should I just break down and buy some codexes? Thoughts?

All your options seem pretty viable especially dualboxed. You could also go NIN/RDM and just spam ninjitsu with WHM/THF for TH and heals.

edit oops mule doesnt have Thf leveled.

Level 40 BST can solo farm them nekkid in the Aquaducts (couple pieces of CHR gear nice though).

Maybe scan the ol' friends list.

They all look viable to me too. As the above poster says, BST can also solo the taurs in the first room in Phomiuna really easily. If you have a BST friend, I think that would be the easiest way to farm them, it's pretty much risk-free.

Oh, and if anyone on Midgard reads this, I have a codex for sale and it's been in my dam bazaar FOREVER so I'll cut you a deal. Thanks!

When I farmed for my codex, I went to aqueducts as NIN/RDM. NIN's debuffs will seriously ruin the minotaurs, they become a joke to tank and allow you plenty of time to turn before their doom WS. If you have access to Atumre then you could go /THF or /WAR and melee your way through them with very little difficulty, just make sure you focus on NIN enough to watch for TP abilities.

This shouldn't be a problem at all, even if you aren't the best tank in the world.

With the Signet update, THF/NIN can solo the Phomiuna ones very, very easily. I threw together some K-mart outfit with a Tulwar and Cuir armor, brought Thug bow with acid/sleep/bloody and tore them up. On average, I lost about 100 HP per fight, easily rested between repops.

I solo'd all mine NIN/WHM, just make sure you turn your back when they use Mortal Ray. (NIN/RDM would work too)

They are easy to solo in either cap, as nin/thf, thf/nin, and even easier as blu. I even went blu/thf to farm a bunch in 40 cap, back when they were actually worth something. Only thing is to fight unlocked, and turn for a bit when you see them ready a TP attack.

I soloed I dunno how many codices as 50NIN/WHM in Sacrarium, just camping the couple near the entrance, sometimes venturing in for the one a little further. /shrug

I'd duoed a load with a friend on NIN/THF and myself as either WHM, BRD, RDM or SMN for support, whichever I felt like getting exp for. The decent challenge ones near the Aqueducts entrance are easy as hell with two. Drop rate sucks a bit, but that's hardly surprising.

I've also soloed them as SMN, but the pull can be rather challenging. Have to get up the ladder, which de-aggros the Taurus to your Carbuncle, but leaves it wanting to kill you.

I don't see why you couldn't do option 2 with one character 40BLM/20THF, or option 3 with 50RDM/25THF. Then you get the nuke-sleep option and placebo both.

Or other idea, trio them with me because I need one as well even though I'm like 0/11 on that dam belt. We could do the 50 cap ones.

I prefer /WHM to /RDM for poisona but you can always bring yags or antidotes.

if sacrarium are free, it is better use rdm+blm to go hunt.

    for aquadect, whm+nin and hunt those low lvl. unless you can rdm+nin, then you can try one VT-IT taurus while waiting the repop (both all spam spell only) . But you need a very good skill to dual box when fighting the VT-IT taurus, gravity+bind when needed. I died from it once before and had to HPed ; ;

I'd suggest the rdm/blm or blm/blm combo simply because you can go lazy mode and stay turned around the entire fight

Don't know about kill rate vs pop rate on the spawns in sacrium but it's nonstop if you walk for a bit to an area with a bunch of the bastards in aqueducts.
