    Small manning fortitude

I've been wanting to help a friend of mine gets Fortitude Torque, and trigger isn't too hard to farm with duo/trio. Problem is, my LS only do sea like once or twice a week, and there is like 7 people in it that wants the torque, combine torque droprate with just the most likely chances that he'll lot low, it'd take him a looooong time before he can even see a torque drop, much less win it.

So I'm wondering the strategy and the bare minimum number and jobs required to small man some Fortitude runs

2 people would probably be safest.

    RDM + BLM or
    RDM + RDM or
    BLM + BLM.

Zone the graphs and pull fort to another area where you can kite it while the other one nukes/DoTs it.

/NIN would be better for this if you're nuking it.

Very easy if someone has movement speed.

how would zoning the ghrahs help? they both have to die to remove fort's reflect effect, no?

That's the point of going ninja sub. You zone the grahs so fort is by himself, then you cast AM2 or other single target spells on him. He'll take damage and your shadows will absorb whatever he reflects back at you. Just keep shadows up and you're fine. He runs slow, and stops to reflect-cast stuff, so you shouldn't be getting hit at all except for his spells.

Interesting idea. i'll have to try that sometime. as a side note, that reflect can be a handy thing for more than just slowing him down. if you're fighting it in a party and the darkness magic ghrah gets off a sleepga, cast diaga or stonega instead of curaga. you'll wake everyone there, not just the people in your party.

I thought fort and the grahs had shared hate since a lot of times it isn't easy to pull the grahs off of the fort kiter in a conventional set up. If you're going to try to do it with 2 and zone the grahs make sure they aren't in the same party. I imagine that they at least have party hate since all the other NMs with adds have party hate. Report your findings though as I'm curious now

They do, but like other NMs of similar style in sea, they can be separated fairly easily. If you've ever done Ix's with a small group, you'll know what I'm talking about. Have someone pop fort ungrouped, cast stun or another quick spell on the grhah (so fort comes unclaimed) and bolt to the zone. Along the way, have your other guys stun fort so he turns red to you and starts chasing you. Bring him somewhere you can kite him safely (elevator room works) and start working him down. Once the person who pops zones, with any luck the ghrahs should de-aggro and not be a problem. From there it's just a matter of taking down fort.

I've had this mess up plenty of times, it's important that whoever pops him A) is not grouped with everyone else and that B) he quickly casts on something else so fortitude comes unclaimed. If anyone else has hate on the grhahs or you seperate fort from them too late, it won't work.

i am pretty sure there are 2 in my LS that duo this (or did) on a regular basis
rdm/nin with crimson pants, kiting and nuking for hate (and some damage), and smn for main damage

.. maybe it was something else they were killing. i cant remember.

    Re: Small manning fortitude

I'm sure there are cleaner methods, but this is basically how I did it a while ago with 3x blm:

A with gaiters pops it, starts running to main hall
B spams cure on it to slow it down
Fort needs to be 40 or so distance away from the ghrahs to break shared hate
B zones out at the main zone
C who has been out of party the whole time tags fort and takes it to a different tower than where it was popped and kites, B can assist once the pull is clean. If C fucks up B can take over.
A either dies or zones up one of the elevators.
    Recover and kill.

/NIN helps but isn't necessary. Stick to tier 4 and he can't oneshot you through stoneskin, even as a taru with latent active. Gaiters help enormously since you can easily deaggro any ghrahs. Fort is only slightly harder than 2-man or 3-man Ix'aerns. Once he's castrated and pulled to a safe room you can't lose.
