Ahh fuck, Help please (Kinda urgent)

Okay just a build up: my pc has gotten really slow, ive reformatted twice defragged etc. I recently started getting this message upon starting on my PC.:

Award Medallion BIOS 6.0 Copyright(c) 1994-2003, Award Software, Inc

    Copyright 2003 by Hewlett-packard company rev.317

    Intel (r) Celeron (r) 2600 MHz Processor
    Memory Test : 1048576k OK

Award plug and play BIOS Extension V.1.0 A
Initialize Plug & Play cards pnp int: Completed

    Detecting Primary Master: ST380012A
    Detecting Primary Slave: None
Detecting Secondary Master: IDE-DVD Rom 16x
Detecting Secondary Slave: ASUS CRW 4824AH

Hardware monitor found an error. Enter power setup menu for details.
    F1: Setup F2: Continue
Not really sure what to make of this besides maybe I have to update BIOS(Which I have no idea on how to go about.) Just when I was typing this the first time my PC crashed and refused to start (would turn on then off.) I opened up the case and unplugged the power for about 5 min and tried again. I dont think its overheating (But it could be) because I checked all my fans and they are running fine. Not to mention my house is 68' right now.

    Please help :<

Reset your bios settings? Should be some kind of switch/dial on the mobo that you can mess with that should reset the settings to factory default ones.

get into the bios and try hitting F5, I'm not sure what MOBO you have but that might bring up an option to reset to default bios settings.

To reset your CMOS manually, you'll have to look on your MOBO for where the battery is, (usually near where the video card is or where the primary PCI or PCIe is) should be a little silver nickle colored thing, like a flat lithium battery. right near that you should see a pin sticking out, with what looks like a cover over 2 more pins on the same little slot. So, 3 pins total, 2 covered by a little plastic thing. You'll wanna take that plastic thing off, and put it on the other side, so if the left 2 pins have the plast thing, and the right one is free, put it on the right 2, so the left one is free.

After that, take out your battery, it should have a little snapping mechanism to remove it. Leave it out for about a minute or so. After the minute is up, put the little plastic thing back how it was. So put it back on the left two. After that put the battery back in place, and start up. That will manually reset your MOBO to the default settings. You might have to go into the bios after that and change a few things, like the date and whatnot. Don't mess with something unless you know what you're doing or know how is was. after doing that and being in the bios, hit F5 again to restore default settings, then save and exit and reboot.

If that doesn't work then i don't know. It might not be a bios thing and you just did that for no reason.

It's a jumper usually located near the southbridge of the mobo, and it's labeled usually CMOS CLR or CLMOS....Make sure you completely turn off and unplug the computer before changing the jumper, leave the jumper in the opposite position for 30 seconds while the computer is off, then return it to it's previous position and turn the computer on. Do this at your own risk.

    http://www.winforums.com/showthread.php?t=9824

Leave the case open and check if all the fans are working

Edit: i did not read all of the OP anyway, you do mention all your fans are working OK

Go inside the BIOS and there is an option that reads something like: Load Default Values or Load Optimized Settings. try that.

Also you cloud try unplugging some addon cards (sound, network, wireless network) and plug one at a time. Same with hard-disks and optical drives.

A hardware monitor error usually just means something could be wrong....doesn't mean temperatures are a problem

Hit f1 for setup.. go into the power setup menu(like it says), and see what is causing the problem. Could be a broken thermal diode or a fan is messed up or your BIOS update was for the wrong motherboard and its trying to find a monitor device that isn't there

You probably won't get any help.. people always just use what came with their motherboard. Some of the third party stuff might be good but I don't know anyone that has used any of it.

Does it have a brand? The manufacture may have a website where you can download utilities.

I foresee the wise purchase of a decent heatsink and fan.

Then leave the side panel off your case, and point a regular house fan towards it.

You can get decent cooling pretty cheaply these days, something like this would work wonders for stability. Obviously ensure it'll fit your board/chip first.
