Was wondering if anyone has seen their pets use tier 2/3 spells, and what lvls they started using them based on main/sub jobs.

Monsters have shown to not gain skills until they reach the lvl that a normal person could cast it. so the first lvl you would see something cast stone 2 would be lvl 26 theoretically
My weapon was using Cure II around level 13-14, and I'm playing around with a BLM Hecteyes to see when he gets it.
Saw a level 40+ imp today sleeping and casting -gas, and used stonega II.
Was using sleep 2 also.
So at level 50, would a BLM mob be using Freeze and -ga II's exclusively, or would it randomly choose Stone I on occasion?
Not sure but it seemed like the mobs were using the T2 spells mostly, fights are kinda quick usually still but I am thinking/hoping that the T2, etc spells have higher priority.
have you ever seen a mid-to-high level BLM mob cast Stone? I think they might if they're really low on MP, but in general they either use their 3 or 4 most powerful nukes, or elemental enfeebles, sleep, bio, etc.Originally Posted by Khamsin

I don't think I've seen any of em cast bio. I'll find out when our imp gets 50 if it casts freeze or not, would not surprise me at all to see it using sleep2>freeze.
I will say this, the thing was absolutely spamming the shit out of drain to the point where damaging it did no good until it got into the bigger -gas.
It waterga2'd for 504 dmg yesterday btw.
my hecteyes has cast bio already
Imp at 50 does in fact sleep and freeze, only got 407 dmg from it when I heard about it. I'm certain that was resist because its -ga2 do more than that.
Faught a level 19 Pot earlier today. All it could cast was waterga, bio and poison. I think it ran out of MP after that, and that is pretty pathetic. >.>
My DRK qutrub casts bio and poison on a regular basis. Luckily he's stopped casting stone so much and uses drain more and more.Originally Posted by izembo
I've been watching high-level BLM mobs and so far, not one has cast a tier II nuke. Sleep II, Bio II, Poison II, sure, but they seem to nuke only with tier I -agas or Freeze.
One cool thing they do is cast Sleep II, then nuke with like Thundaga or something, which then does like 500 damage due to the double-damage-when-asleep thing.
lvl 50 Imp on Asura uses waterga and stonega II on occasion, but haven't paid too close of attention to what else it does.
My reason behind trying to figure this out, was that could a high lvl white mage or red mage type become some of the stronger types, based on the fact that they can cure4. Which would i would guess do 360+ for healing be very worthwhile in the long run(assuming you can make it so it cures itself a fair amount, has the mp for it, and doesn't get interupted). I could imagine a crab being annoying at lvl 50 lol. May never win, but doubt it would lose very often lol.
My DRK/WAR just hit 45 and cast Stone II for the first time.
