it sorta looks like the WarMachine suit that he wears. looks similar to the warmachine suit that was worn in the animated ironman DVD at least. Robert Downey Jr. (is who i heard was tony stark) is still iffy choice imo.

One of the comics I was reading had an interview from the writers of Civil War and they say they have envisioned Iron Man / Tony Stark to be played by Johnny Depp, lol.

I'll most likely watch this, as I'll watch almost any comic book movie unless it gets horrible reviews by credible critics.

That's the original Iron Man suit, before he made the red/gold armor. That one was more cobbled together in his garage than actually manufactured. He gets the normal suit later.

And Robert Downey Jr is going to be awesome, he has the alcoholic part down pat!

I heard they were planning on doing this movie.

He is one of the more realistic stories about becoming a super hero.

Hopefully they don't fuck it up.

Oh I'm not, was just commenting that some of the Marvel writers thought Depp would be a good Iron Man (but uhh, what couldn't Depp be?) We'll see how Downey plays it, not making any calls until I get more info.

How could they go with an Ultimate Nick Fury that isn't played by Sam Jackson?

Edit: Er, I guess since they made Kingpin black in Daredevil, Nick Fury being black doesn't necessarily mean it's Ultimate universe Fury. But still, I think Sam would work really well.

I think the movie will do what Ghost Rider did in the Box Office.

Comic Book movies are becoming over-saturated on the big screen.

Most likely you will get Tony Stark bio for 30 mins, then his trials/twist for 25 min, then 5 min of the making of the suit, 20 min of fight scenes, then last 10 min given to the future, and a glimpse of what will come and the Red/Gold shown as a tease (ala Matrix, Neo flying in the end)

There you go 1 hour 30 min comic book movie

Just checked IMDB, they're both coming out in 2009

Also: Downey will be just fine for this. Tony Stark is an alcoholic, headstrong, and foolhardy golden boy. I think He'll have no problem playing the role. I'm glad that this movie, like the animated Iron Man feature will start with the true origins of Iron Man and the original suit.

My only beef though... Gwenneth Paltrow as Pepper Potts? wtf...
