Using Spellcast to change gear

im trying to learn how to change gear with spellcast, but im not very good w/ scripting. (read: never scripted)

1) what is XML? do i need a program to type in it?
2) what would a good file look like, if i wanted to change gear while casting dispel?

i figured it out; mostly, however now every time i start up the thing says

"error w/ default.XML. <rules> or <sets> tag not found

i tried spellcast and use the already-done script that people post in windower-wiki page,it works as you just type /heal or * in game and you'll change to resting gear as soon as you type the command or casting speific spells where you have put in gear-swap inside the script,but i was looking for plug-in that will do that for melee (gear swapping for ws),so i stop using it,but i'm sure it works for melee too if you have the proper script written.
