    LG Voyager (Verizon)

Was wondering if anyone had this phone yet.
    http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...owimagephp.jpg

First of all, Please don't compare it to the iPhone. It is not an iPhone, it is not like an iPhone, it has features the iPhone has, and doesn't have, so it is not even "like" an iPhone.

My plan is up with verizon and I was thinking about picking this or a Helio Ocean up. The touch screen is ok, if you don't use it for 14seconds you have to press the bottom left corner of it to "unlock" it which seems like it could be annoying after a while, but it pulsates slightly after you touch your selection which is nice. It uses the usual verizon interface that has been around for a while now, just different Icons and such now. Can hold up to 8gb of information with the microSD disks, music/tv/data whatever. The music player is very primitive, but it does play music from your pc.

The phone has a QWERTY keyboard that flips open JUST LIKE THE ENVY, however the phoner seems thinner and lighter than the ENVY which is a huge plus to me.

Since my plan is up, and verizon service is the best in my area, this is one of the choices I had for a new phone. I don't need a "phone" really, but I need a text/IM/email/data/internet device, and verizon's service is the cheapest for me. If I could get a sidekick I would, but because of the $$$ of service and how terrible tmobile seems to be in my area I guess I won't be getting it. My other choice I guess would be a Helio Ocean, but again the plan is overpriced (really wish I knew more people at gamestop to get a discount on the plan but I don't). If anyone has a way of getting a discount from tmobile or Helio (the service itself not the phone cost) I'd love to hear it, for now though this is really my only choice of phone so if anyone has any experience with it more than just playing with it in a store, I'd love to hear it.

    You need this:

Seriously, I still use one of these.

It makes calls and handles SMS. It's all I need in a phone.

These things are selling like hotcakes. If you are thinking about getting one, make sure you do so as soon as possible. You might not be able to get one. Also I think youd get a better deal with the Blackberry pearl deal. With your new every 2 you could get it as low as 49.99.

Yeah I'm gonna check out the pearl, would be nicer if it had a better keyboard so I might check the other Blackberrys. Like I said price of the phone isnt the issue, it's the service. My company will pay a HUGE chunk of the verizon bill so I kinda am obligated to stick with them even though I'd rather a sidekick or helio (hence looking for some promo code or employee code for them) Of the verizon phones, this seems like pretty much the best aside from blackberry's, which is kinda gay. Wish they would step up and make a phone like sidekick or helio already.

I was actually thinking about getting this one soon myself. Its between this one and the new Blackberry that Verizon has. Cousin of mine let me try out his BB and I actually really like it, cept the little arrow ball needs getting use to. I think only 50 dollar difference but not to sure, should check that one out as well.

    Re: LG Voyager (Verizon)

Im still leaning towards the helio if I can somehow get a discount on the Plan, but if not it looks like I'll have to settle with the voyager anyway. It doesn't seem that bad really, it's an upgrade from mine so whatever.

    Re: LG Voyager (Verizon)

I work at a Verizon store and have had lots of opportunity to play with it.

The pop up keyboard is obviously one of the best features about it. I agree, one of the annoying features is that it goes dark very quickly and is hard to wake it back up.

The pictures the camera takes are really good and really big b/c of the screen, so that is a big plus.

I have to work today so ask me any questions and I can see for you.

    2 year price is $299 with a $50 rebate.

1 year renewal is the same as the 2 year but with a $20 processing fee.

The 1 year contract price I believe is $419

    Re: LG Voyager (Verizon)

What is the AIM/MSN like on the phone? Is it really primitive ugly laggy and full of d/c's and crap? Im using a motorolla E815 right now, if the aim/msn is better than it is on my phone than its almost a definate buy for me.

As for music, I've heard "yes you can bring music from PC" and "no, only vcast" which is it? If it's from PC, is it mp3/wma can i bring it from my own folders and such? Whats the internet feature like? Any decent at all? I know its a few $ a month but whatever. My big problem is international calling, I call japan alot and If you know how much that would be monthly that would be great.
