Maat's Cap

I have heard several different things about how to obtain maat's cap. I know you need to beat maat with several different jobs. But I have heard that you only need to beat him with 7 jobs cause the stats are all +7 and I have heard you need to beat him with all the jobs pre ToAU.

Did a search and didn't find an answer. So i'm sorry if this topic has been discussed before.

It's definitely more than seven jobs, 90% sure it's all pre-ToAU jobs.

All pre toau jobs and you can fight him at level 66 - dont have to be 70 or 75. FFXI AH has a little list of how much exp u lack to maat cap if you enter your info

It seems at times I catch glimpses of quite a few people with caps and wonder which server has the most. While I feel confident that there are not hundreds of people with them on each server...I'd probably say the number is close to the mid teens early twenties.

Its 15 jobs with minimum 66, all pre-Toau jobs. Sig screenshoted when I got mine.

On Fairy I'd estimate a good 10-15 people with caps.

2 more jobs to go for me. well, 3. BST is just about there (65). Decided to only take BST WAR and MNK to 66, instead of 75 atm. But I wanna lvl DNC and SCH

I know of around 10-12 on Lakshmi. The names that come to mind off the top of my head are Jarriane, Onimenokyo, Leonlin, Ooover, Xcalibur, Dayaikenopapa (has BLU/PUP/COR and 65+ SCH), Hirakun and Lorinsirtm. Can't remember the rest of the JP names, but I know there's several more.

I'd say the hardest ones for me were, DRK (3x to win), MNK (2x to win), SAM (2x to win), BST (2x to win)

DRK needed the most meds, MNK depended on counters, SAM needed to actually time third eye to recast during 2hr because seigan didn't guarantee to last, BST needed the right strat (youtube had a better one than written online guides).

Obviously 75 WAR / BLM / RDM (mine was 70) makes it easier than 66. The rest were extremely easy IMO. Experiences as a Taru.

Just about every other DRK I've talked to who did Maat at level 70 said they had to redo it at least several times.

When I did Maat on DRK at 70, he was pretty much a joke. I won the fight with over 100 TP and 35% hp to spare, and 20% of my HP lost during the fight was from my Souleatered swings going at him after Blood Weapon wore. First try.

I used a Blink Band and slept to 100% TP; no other items used.

beat maat on drk first try at 69 with 1k hp remaining, eating meat mithkabobs pre-blink band....never thought drk was even close to being hard and was confused how it was possible to lose =/

Tried DRK three times at 66, and just could not manage to get enough damage out. it seemed to me that I was just one WS away from winning, each time, so I made the resolution to stick with it until 68 or 69. Then shortly after I dinged 67, the 2hander update happened, and I beat maat at 67. Completely forgot to buy an icky wing, and decided to tough it out. The fight would have been a joke if I'd brought one. Without it was just barely a win when my roommate looked over my shoulder while I was frantically staring at drain and stun recast timers, and said "Oh, by the way, you have enough tp to WS". Guillotined and won.

The 2hander update defintely makes maat much easier on drk. I wonder what he'd be like now with guillotine's acc penalty removed.

All in all I'd have to say that in my own maat's cap quest, drk was definitely the hardest one. I thought I would have a hard time with RDM at only 67, but he slept like a baby every time. HQ staves: They work.

If you have access to a K. club, DRK Maat is ridiculously easy from what I understand. Otherwise, it's just a matter of putting out enough damage before he can touch you. Sleep to 100% TP with an opo necklace, use a blink band, food, etc., run in, souleater/last resort, engage, guillotine, stun, blood weapon, get one hit in, iccy wing, guillotine, and he should be dead.

Well, I did the fight at 66, and he has alot more HP than I imagined. HP as a taru, I don't remember if I even broke 900HP, so my souleater/WS weren't that high, especially after the first one. Fight was a joke with using Vile's but w/o them, it was impossible with any strats I've seen.

My first WS with full HP and souleater maybe only did like 25% of his life bar.
