Slight Meditate change?

Did they ninja-change Meditate so that you can't get 180 TP any more?

It didn't happen frequently, but it did used to give 180 when AF head and AF2 hands both got a lucky proc.

It hasn't happened in way too long to just be coincidence, max I've gotten is 160 for months now.

I think I remember a samurai friend of mine got 180 from his first meditate while helping us on Tenzen.

Maybe it was too long ago to help you figure out an edit though, November 05, 2007.

When both kote and kabuto are used, it's between 140-180 but 180 is really rare. Can't remember the last time I got that much

That's why I think it was capped to 160 somewhere along the way, I can't remember the last time I got 180.

I dunno, meditate is weird. I dont think I have ever gotten 180. But i know I have only gotten 80 a few times.

I've gotten 36 and 42 TP from /Sam Meditate sometimes and been "wtf?"

omg, I guess i wasn't the only one.
once there's a guy asking about Meditate question regarding how much tp you can get when both piece equiped. i answered 140-180, but then got bashed badly. Since I remember myself getting 180 here and there, so I did a little test myself. somehow I could only get 160 tp no matter how many time I try. I guess either they ninja changed it or I was just really unlucky.

its easy to get less than what you're suppose to, sometimes macro lag or talking to NPC. Couldn't tell you about 180 tp though, as I haven't gotten AF2 hands yet.

i got 72 tp from a meditate (/sam) once right at the start of a besieged. probably just lag when you got your 180s

I've had 180 a bunch of times, maybe I was just lucky. Haven't really looked lately and I rarely play SAM so idk, might have been changed but I've definately had 180s in the past year.

this may seem like a stupid question, but how would lag affect meditate? i thought TP and such was handled server side, such that even if i hit meditate, lagged for a long window, then recovered my connection, i'd still get my TP. if it's not, i have to wonder if a client side hack would be possible to increase the TP return if there's a client end involvement. it's certainly not difficult to force yourself to "lag." the use of "standbying" in halo multiplayer is a well known exploit that was used for a while iirc, to enable some players to move while others were frozen. this kind of technique for exploiting lag mechanics already exists and would likely be possible to modify for ffxi too. i mention this not because i have an interest in cheating, but because if it's possible, likely someone out there is already doing it and SE and the community need to pay attention for it.

if you hit meditate at a precise second/ms you "lose" a tick of meditate

I got one back in December doing an ENM haven't seen 180 since then though.
