    How to make gif files

    I've always been curious how to make gif files from media files. Does anyone know how I would go about doing this? I've tried google a few times and either had no luck or just didn't understand what I was looking at.

    I use "Animation Shop 3" which came bundled with Paintshop Pro 7.

    It lets me open video files (warning: needs lots of RAM) and then extract frames from it to create animations (gifs).
