so elphaba and i gleefully got some great tickets to see the swell season(Glen Hansard of the frames and marketa irglova, the couple from the film "Once") in baltimore in may. i know this is probably random as hell, but has anyone else seen them and know their policy about taping the show? elph's of the mindframe she's taping it if it kills her(i've seen her do it too, she hides her mics in the clips for her overalls lol), but i didn't know if it was a venue by venue thing, because i know glen's band, the frames, allows taping.
if it's any help, we'll be seeing them at the meyerhoff symphony hall in baltimore, which leads me to believe she's gonna be wearing overalls to the show, but being able to set up a rig and get a nice dat/minidisc of the show would be amazing. (mind you, not for sale, but just for trading of great live music. i wanted to clarify since most tapers understand that, but those who aren't familiar with what i feel like an old man calling tape trading, a lot of bands will let you tape their shows provided that you don't sell the shows, just trade them to other devoted fans).
thanks a ton for any help, and if you're looking for an amazing show to see, get tickets to see these guys... if you're not convinced, you can do a search on npr.org's website for their complete concert from the 930 club in dc last year... there's a section called 'all songs considered' which has live shows from constitution hall and the 930 available for free download, and both the swell season's performance and the frames own gig a few months prior are both up there, and they are, suffice to say, fuckin deadly.
