Is it possible to type in Hiragana/Katakana on a NA FFXI? Asked some people but on one seemed to know.

Get JP POL, or use IME Windower plugin.
Kinda retarded, but I thought I'd bring it up as it popped up in the bazaar comment thread in the media section. People can call GM on you for having Katakana/hiragana in your bazaar comment if you are on NA POl viewer as its "proof" that you are running a 3rd party program. Just a heads up I guess.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
How is that proof?
Log in to JP POL...change bazaar comment. Log out into NA POL, Bazaar comment stays the same doesn't it?
That excuse has worked for me, but doesnt stop all GMs from being ass hats though. Btw, the only safe excuse is to say you lived in Japan for awhile and you had to use the JP version, theyll bitch at you if you say you have an imported JP version, and really bitch if you say you let your JP buddy borrow your account to change it for you.Originally Posted by Darus Grey
Well, I got the plugin but it keeps coming out as ???'s. I do have the language installed and everything as I can type Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji on my pc fine outside of FFXI.Originally Posted by SephirothYuyX
Set non-unicode to japanese
Not 100% sure but I'm pretty sure GMs can check if you've logged on a JP version of FFXI.
For the paranoid:
Just download the JP POL from the SE website (Look for the "vista" versions) install it, log on, go drink a beer, come back, log off.
You now have a JP POL history.
