Edited WotG Maps / In Game Map Pack

I edited the reused maps for WotG zones because I was annoyed by how inaccurate they were. So if anyone else wants to use them, I stuck them in a .rar file to download.

You can view all of the maps it includes here:
    http://s259.photobucket.com/albums/hh299/WingsMaps/
    File link:
    http://hosted.filefront.com/copacct6

Installing the files does not affect any map markings you've made in the game.

The style keeps the look of the original maps. They aren't info providing maps (things like target locations, npc's, fortilaces etc.). I dislike having colored icons, and text on my in game maps just as a personal preference. Main differences they include are any off the map areas, appropriate text where new zone lines occur, and some minor tweaks such as ledges. Man-made structures are shown as well, like forts, walls, barricades, and ramps. Exact positioning of things is bound to be a little off, but I think it's fairly accurate for the most part. Crawler's Nest, and Eldieme Necropolis are unchanged except for the [S] tags, because they're no different area-wise in the past. Zones that aren't available yet are also not changed, at least for now, for obvious reasons.

As always, it's in your interest to virus scan the file, etc. to make sure you're not installing something you don't want.

    Verrrrry nice.

I suppose it wouldn't hurt to add some titles to certain unmarked areas of the map. What comes in mind are the two towers you need to visit in the first bastok quest.

Thanks a bunch! These are nice. :D

A minor suggestion from me would be to add some sort of lines indicating a zoneline doesn't work. For example, the entrace to Konschtat in Pashhow kinda looks like it leads to Grauberg. Just the regular border line they use.

What programs do you use to convert the files to .DAT and back? I've always wanted to know because I've been dieing to customize many of the maps in the game.

It's subtle, but easier to see in game but each inaccessible zone has blockades shaded off.

Refer to Brandson's LJ which is what I looked to, its pretty simple:

Your guess is as good as mine. Some funky little area grafted on, same thing in pashow.

Just wondering, all the duped maps are their own DAT right? So swapping them with these won't affect the present-day maps they were based off of?
(even if so, thanks SE for wasting unneeded HD space)

Right, the ReadMe file points out where to install over the wotg maps, doesn't affect others.

And yeah pashow's blocked by debris too.

    Likely just a Ghelsbea/Riverne-style battlefield.

Can someone post a dat for Southern Sandoria [S]? I installed this map guide and apparently the S map for this area is corrupt. POL crashes the second I click map or type it out, but this occurs in no other area. I know, back shit up, but I didn't. :<

Will delicious help motivate anyone? :D

Used these maps and found out some of my pets never showed up. Or certain mobs, disconcerting to run around and not see crawlers, hounds or other mobs in certain zones.

Make sure you back up your files before over writing.

Sounds like you copied the files to the wrong folder.

I noticed that the area in S.Champaign that goes to the RNG tiger in the present is blocked off in much the same way as those areas in Ron & Pashhow. Is it possible there's more to it in the past? I can't think of any other reason they'd just cut it off like that.

No, because if you kill the Old Sabertooth in the past when he was just a Middle-Aged Sabertooth, people in the present would not have been able to become Rangers at the start of the game, which would create a paradox that would unravel all of creation.

Thanks for doing this. I was hoping someone would take over updating maps since I cancelled my account a while ago. If anyone wants to take over the user interface dats too, that would also be very nice.
