Anyone looking forward to this?
Actually appearing that it may be a pretty decent RPG for Wii.
Anyone played the original import on PS1 or Saturn?

Nintendo Power blasted the game (not that I give a shit I hate Propoganda Power!)...
Atlus sent out an email to anyone on their fan listing which more or less told them Nintendo Power blasted it and then gave them a link to discuss it on their forums which made me lol.
Either way, I am buying it for the PS2 since I dislike the Wii's controller for games like this. It was not designed for motion sensing thus I'd rather have a PS2 controller.
Classic Controller?
What exactly did NP say about it?
Fuck NP. I haven't gotten any magazines lately and I know my subscription isn't up. I used to look forward to getting them every month too![]()
Classic Controller sucks. Either way, here is the Email that Atlus sent out to their mailing list.
Dear Atlus Faithful,
It's been a while since the last spam--err--email blast. We apologize.
So what have we been up to? You mean, other than making a ton of games that you want to play? Other than brainstorming the most exciting ways we can unveil new titles? Other than planning how to take over the world?
Not much.

Baroque Wii Screens
Baroque received some sharp criticism in the recent issue of Nintendo Power. The reviewer gave it a 3/10, citing steep gameplay difficulty and the fact that the game doesn't hold your hand through the dungeons. We like a good discussion, even if it is a tough one for one of our games, because open discourse is how the genre moves forward. The review can be read and discussed in the official Atlus forums:

3/10 lol, not that I'd trust Nintendo Power.
It should use GC controller as well and there are other 3rd party classic controller options. Personally I don't mind the Nintendo Classic Controller at all, just a little small.
They just bashed it because it's a hardcore Rogue-like/dungeon crawler. These games cater to a very specific niche of players.
I for one am greatly looking forward to it, hope it doesn't disappoint.
This is why I <3 companies like Atlus
Julian have you played any of the previous versions of Baroque?
I was referring to the fact that they went to their player base to get their opinions to make their company better as a whole.Originally Posted by Seditedi

Seriously, I hope it doesn't dissapoint. Looking forward to playing it. Need a HARD game for once...Originally Posted by Julian
But, I know next month is just going to stack up gamewise... picked up a few Imports at Anime Boston this weekend erg... which will take me a while to get through (Namco X Capcom, Fate/Stay Night Realta Nue (won't playthrough, just wanted for my collection), Tales of Destiny: Directors Cut Collectors Edition, Suikoden PSP Collection (Won't play, just wanted for personal Collection and a bunch of old GBA/GBC games like Star Ocean: Blue Sphere.. spent ~$500 on games lulz),
This combined with the epic amount of games next month:
- Arcana Hearts (<3 2D Fighters)
- Baroque
- Chaos Wars
- Persona 3: Fes
- Mana Khemia (yes, I know it's 3/31 ship... but in reality its an April game since it hits stores 4/1)...
I almost miss being poor in college... couldn't buy everything I wanted but I at least had time to play what I wanted -.-;;;
So anyone picked this up yet?
Thoughts on it?
I fucking love it. I especially like how the game tells you next to nothing, and you have to figure everything out. Even something simple like advancing the story is not obvious, and you have to put some time and effort into piecing the whole weird world together.
If you are a Roguelike fan though, make sure to set it to Hard mode. Easy and Normal are just too easy.
So it is a definite buy? or rental first then decide.
Depends on what you're into. If harsh death penalties (ie losing all your items AND your levels) are something that would piss you off, pass. Otherwise, you'll probably enjoy it. First real hardcore RPG on the Wii, it's nice.Originally Posted by Seditedi
