Abquhbah wrong or mercenary rank up formula wrong?

This has happened to me several times now. I'll talk to Abquhbah before doing a assault I haven't cleared before, and he'll give me one of his texts. I'll do the clear and he'll give me the same text, when the 5 points should supposedly be enough to bump to the next category. So...has anyone noticed similar things to this? Or even more curious, does anyone think it might be possible that a new clear isn't always 5 points?

And I know, the solution is to keep track of points manually. But Abquhbah has always been reliable enough for me so I hadn't bothered.

It's one of the other. You're not the only person mentioned about it. I had this vague point accumulation too when I ranked up.

But definitely, once you clear 5 new assaults. You can rank up.

Actually the correct answer would be once you got your 25 pts you rank up. But yeah text can be strange from time to time but once you accumulate your 25 pts you'll be able to rank up.

5pts per new assault win
1pts per repeated assault.

Best way to do it is to keep note of what you've done and not relying on Abquhbah.

there are a few rankup quests (like ranking up to SP/C/S) that require you to talk to Naja first, not abquhbah.

I think I proved to myself that 2 fails=1 repeat, or half a point.

Or a fail is 1 point, a repeat is 2 points, and a clear is 10 points.

Too complicated to really track?

It's kinda hard to say the "true" system since what we use is user-defined.

In my run up to FL from PSC this has never shown true. We've failed many times (enough that any amount of fails would contribute to an actual cut of one entire assault) and never been able to rank up early. I think it was during out C rank run we had something like 10-15 fails because we just kept screwing things up terribly and that still never netted us a rank up early. 5 clears of new will always mean a rank, 25 repeats will get you a rank up, any fails and your SOL for that tag.
