Registration:

8:00 a.m. until full capacity; Dakota Ballroom
2,500 max. contestants
At 7:30 a.m., a random number will be drawn from all numbers distributed between 6:00 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. The tournament spots will be filled sequentially based on the number drawn

Qualifying Rounds:

10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.; Grand Ballroom
Contestants play one single-elimination match
Top 140 scores of match winners advance

Quarterfinal Rounds:

5:00 p.m. & 5:30 p.m.; Grand Ballroom
Two rounds of 70 players
Contestants play one single-elimination match
Top seven scores of match winners advance

Semifinal Wild Card Drawing:

6:00 p.m.
One wild card player will be drawn from all non-
advancing players

Semifinal Round A:

6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.; Mystic Showroom
One round of eight players
Contestants play one single-elimination match
Match winner advances to Semifinal Round B

Semifinal Round B:

I heard about this. I'd go and take part of it except that GH3 is a horrible game compared to GH2. I don't wanna play on freakin medium cuz that pretty much makes the game harder since the notes barely match up with the song. What kind of crappy tournament is this where you play on freakin Medium? That's so stupid. Whoever wins just proved to himself that he's better than 5% of the population who play guitar hero.

I'd really laugh if someone got 100% on every song, cuz it's not gonna be too hard to do that.

If it's really medium and hard, it will come down to who has more practice at ttfaf hard for the final out of the 2 best squeezers.

There's thousands and thousands of players that can FC everything on medium including ttfaf, and in the high hundreds probably on people that are "capable" of fc'ing everything on hard except ttfaf.

And to the person that said GH2 is better than GH3, I whole-heartedly DISagree. The interface is so sloppy and sluggish compared to 3, hammer-ons are virtually non-existant (at least I think so). Just like GH2 was leagues better than GH1 -- GH3 is leagues better than GH2. Not to mention nearly all of the songs on GH2 are covers :/

Disagree with your disagreeing! GH3's ho/po was terrible; it could have been something awesome with placing the ho/po's manually, but opening the window of notes made timing too easy and messy. GH2's charting was the pinnacle - the songs were still hard to play but without 3 note chords being thrown in your face every goddamn song. Setlists are only a matter of preference/musical tastes, so thats up to you.

Oh yeah, fucking Pandora, Clive, and Eddie were cut, wtf. They did a good job with Casy though, but goddamn were Judy and the BOWCHICAWOWWOW dancers ugly.

GH3 is broken, I agree. The ho/pos in GH2/RB are way better, but from what I understand they're addressing that issue in Aerosmith (not sure how reliable/better/worse it'll be, but I read somewhere that they're working on it.) That still doesn't change the fact that it looks better than its predecessors, though.

Qualifying and Quarterfinal Rounds will be played on medium difficulty level. Semifinal Rounds and the Final Round will be played on hard difficulty level.
