install hijackthis and learn the whole list right now when you know it's virus free, and check it every once and awhile (i check it every day when i wake up and when i goto bed sometimes in between if i've done some questionable browsing, AND when i install new games/programs incase they add something to the list i have to watch for).

download helper addon for firefox and using seeqpod or dizzler.com (spelling may be off), or hell, even grabbing it off myspace. Kinda hafta P2P for some of the lesser known stuff unless you have access to a good music torrenting site.

Agreed. Anti-cirus and anti-spyware programs are unnecessary if you know what you're doing. Plus they slow down your system too much.


I would recommend you buy a copy of XP (or Vista) to reinstall in your Dell. That way you can get rid of all that bundled software that they put on their machines. Your system will run faster and cleaner.

I was a PC person all my life and I finally bought a 17" Macbook Pro 2 years ago. It still runs like new and faster than any other laptop I've used. I can still install and play the games I want to play. It runs Vista better than any other PC I've seen. It's perfect. Once you learn the shortcuts it's amazing. I wouldn't trade my macbook pro for anything (Except a newer Macbook Pro.......)
