    Website access problems

Randomly at work I'll go through a spurt where I am unable to access a website, as in I receive a "Problem loading page" from Firefox. This time, it's my website, along with the website I run for my roommates' LS, along with another website I run. They're all based off the same account, so each domain name resolves to the same IP. To make the situation even weirder, these sites stop resolving starting at 945AM EST, on the dot. I've checked my dns server to make sure it didn't somehow get set to block sites, checked the firewall (I'm set as being able to bypass keyword blocking, site blocking, etc...), and everything else I can think of. I've run a ping from my firewall, and it's unable to resolve. I know for a fact that my sites aren't down, as I can access them via anonymous web-based services. When running a tracert from my work computer, it goes the correct way of getting off my ISP, onto a Level3 pipe, enters the data center my server is at, and then gets stuck in the process of routing around the data centers. Running a lot of web-based tracerts and pings, they all resolve correctly.

So my question is does anyone have any idea of what the hell is going on? The problem normally goes away after a week, and then comes back a month later. It's rather annoying as I'm currently working on a LS site upgrade, and I can't POP/Webmail my E-Mail. My guess is that this is an ISP issue? It seems odd that it starts at 945AM EST every morning, not sure when it ends, however.

Any help and/or ideas would be great.

Edits: Using the IP instead of the domain name yields no result. Also, I don't get my avatar when reading this post due to it being hosted on my site, so basically my connection acts like my sites don't exist. I am able to access the backend of my website account, but that doesn't use the IP or domain name of the site.

Oh its earlier then 9:45 EST. Im usually up around 8 and still see problems. Whats funny is I see your avatar.

Someone please halp, this is seriously the most confusing series of errors I've seen. Both Dolmen and I's idea is that its just a bad router. Any way to confirm this?

Well I'm encountering this at work as well, but it's a lot worse! The thing at home is definitely a bad router, it's been doing this for quite a while now... I'm going to pick up a new router this weekend.

Should probably check if something in your router settings have changed, maybe client lease times or something like that. Also a possibility beside your router its your ISP modem that has gone bad which in most cases it is, I had to replace mine a few months ago.

Try removing the router from the network and try using only the modem and see what happens, if everything is fine for the day then its definitely the router. Bit of a hassle since only one computer will have a connection but its better then wasting your money.

The home problem I know is the router. It already has a dead port on it, and just does random stuff that goes against anything in the settings. As for doing that at work, nooooooooo. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the modem at work however, because it's rather old.

If router is WRT54G By Linksys, THROW IT AWAY QQ. Other than that, call your ISP or your manufacturer's tech line.
