Holding Simurgh

I want to camp a pair of Trotters now that the hype has considerably died down, but of course it is hard to drag very many people out for a 3 hour window.

I seem to recall it being possible to sleep even Simurgh as a BRD. If this is true, is it possible to hold Simurgh solo as a BRD until reinforcements arrive? I realize he rages in 20, but assuming everyone comes as soon as I claim, that shouldn't be a problem. Does anyone know if he resists/builds resist/is easy to lullaby consistently?

I can dual box a BLM/THF and a BRD/NIN/THF, what would be the most efficient way to go about holding Simurgh? He has sick accuracy and can't be slept with black magic. I can't do a whole lot dual boxing (it is a laptop, kills the processor really bad) but I can control both windows decently well.

Lullaby will land, I've never tested but it might be possible for COR(light shot) and WHM(repose) to sleep it aswell? Also light based sleeps. Dunno. As far as holding you could do it fairly easy with NIN or THF and RDM or WHM.

I'd go with Thf+Brd if you're gonna dual box it.

To answer your question about Lullaby, a BRD used to be able to solo both Roc and Simurgh simply by Lullabying it, keeping songs up on themselves, and hitting it with a dagger before it woke up each time. It took a very long time, but it doesn't build any resistance at all unless it's been changed.

But yea it'll range too quick now for you.

This is probably true... even if you are able to drag it off the ledge, you're going to be hard pressed rounding the troops up in time... at least for a low man kill.

3 hour windows aren't that bad if you don't have competition. You can trade-off AFKing as long as someone is on the lookout for the NM. Of course, if there is competition, 3 hour windows suck.

just log there after maintenance with a killsquad that can camp the play button, and kill it as fast as you can when you logon then warp out. i had the tod hidden and got my boots and the rest of my group boots then let it go

Go up there dual boxing THF and BRD and you would only need 1 or 2 friends to come up and camp with you ... no need to hold it till an ally gets there when it can be done with 4 easily <_<.

To answer a previous question, Repose sticks rather easily for full duration on Simurgh/Roc. And as everyone else said, somethingsomething rage in 20minutes so holding is probably not a good option. You can trio Simurgh very easily with a bard for march.

most of the kills I duoed with pld/rdm and TH4 THF <_< it hits me for 15~ normal hits and 0 on blocks, before reprisal so I'd imagine even a non-relic PLD could do the same

A PLD I know soloed it during the patch where resists were screwed up and elegy wouldn't stick on him, though I don't think it would be possible now seeing as pld/whm gets no enspells, spike spells, or phalanx.
