Worth updating firefox?

Hearing about the recent rmt exploits, i was hearing to update flash players and browsers. Does this mean we have to update our firefox to 3 now or can we stay within 2? Could somebody also give a jist of what to do to keep ourself protected from being hacked, because the topics and suggestions seem to be around everywhere and im not really sure which is the way to go. Thanks~

You need an up to date virus scanner (obviously)
You need either Firefox 2 or 3, with NoScript installed, and iFrames disabled.
You need all plug-ins updated, flash, realplayer, etc.
You need a properly configured firewall, either software (like Sygate) or hardware (on your router)


With regard to upgrading to Firefox 3, I've done so, and I'm very pleased with it. On my machine, the memory management is much improved and I like a couple of the new features. Unfortunately, some people report it being not so great with memory for them, so I'd suggest trying it and rolling back to 2 if you're not happy with it. Certain plug-ins don't work with 3 yet either, so if you rely on some that haven't been fixed yet, you might want to wait a bit.
