War Of The Lions Zodiac Set-Up

Starting a new game, and wanting to know if anyone has a better starting set-up than this. Ramza and 2 male scorpio, and 2 female taurus. Is there a better way to set it up? This way the females are mages and get best compitibility with the males, but the males are neutral to each other maiking it still decent.

Trying to match the zodiac signs was always too obsessive for me since you can dominate the game with just Ramza anyway.

However, my favorite set-up for Ramza is such:

    "Shaolin Monk"
    -Martial Arts
    -Mettle
    -Shihiradoi
    -Two Hand
    -Move 3

This set-up destroyed Velius at level 35. One shotted (well one turned) Wigraf, then he went first against V and went again right after V moved and started summoning, all without doing any Tailwind. Hit for about 400 each hand.

BTW I always have Ramza as a Capricorn cause that fits the best against almost all the hard bosses.

The only thing that sucks about Move +3 is that you have to be a Bard to get it with a Male Character.

Never cared about zodiac stuff myself... it's too easy to wreck anyone no matter what your Zodiac sign is.

IIRC, making Ramza a Capricorn will give him "good" compatibility with a lot of the bosses, which makes killing them easier. Notably, this list includes both Gafgarion and Wiegraf, both of whom Ramza has to fight alone. The damage bonus from good compatibility, combined with the relative ease of manipulating their AI gives Ramza a big advantage in these duels.

With a Capricorn Ramza, you'll want your party members to be either Virgos or Tauruses, as the Cap-Vir-Tau triangle all has good compatibility with each other. Also, Cancer (i.e. Agrias) has best compatibility with Capricorn, so that's another good choice.

Ok well im thinking, 3 male capricorn then, and 2 best compatibility females as Cancer. Then just focus on keeping either the 2 females casting on the males or vice versa. If you use the triangle for the 3 males, then all the female best compats are messed up to.

Ramza - Monk w/ dual wield
Other Male - Monk w/ dual wield
Random character - Time Mage w/ throw items
    2 other random jobs
Cast haste on the Monks at start of every battle.

Total ownage on any map ever.

For a bunch of reasons I'm not going to rehash here, a Ninja with Brawler is considerably better than a Monk with Dual Wield.
