Anyone ever do this before? I have like a $20,000 dollar debt from buying online currency and I'm not in the mood for going through debt consolidation since my credit is already fucked up beyond repair anyways.

Not like I care about the next 10 years of having it stamped on my credit report since I work in my dads enterprise.

Just for the record, you can't declare bankruptcy just because you don't feel like paying it back. You have to show you're really unable to pay it. And even if you do that you often have to pay back a substantial portion.

If your dad own an enterprise, you probably need to get him to bail you out. Why did you put yourself in that position if you have a rich family and steady job?

Well I've talked to 4-5 different financial counselor's and they said it still works that way in my state. They do seize things which are obviously bought with the debt/and or used with the credit spent. But since I have nothing to declare and my father has all my assets locked away in his trusts. I'm pretty much home free for 10 years on my credit.

As for my dad owning a huge company, I'm not going to run to daddy to help me out. I've never asked a dime from him and never will. At one point I thought of paying off the debt since I make more than enough to have it paid in a year or so. But why lol? The economy is as fucked up as ever, and new credit laws are popping up weekly.

But anyways, bankruptcy should always be a last resort, not something you just do just because you don't feel like going through credit counseling. Bankruptcy is some serious stuff.
