Lowering Craftsman status?

Hey this is probably a dumb question but i lvld clothcraft a long time ago and hit 58 then ranked up. I stopped for awhile and decided to lvl WW instead and am now lvl 70, but it will not allow me to rank up because i am a craftsman in clothcraft still. I went to the CC guild and talked to the person but they say nothing about ranking down, do i need to lvl it to 60+ first before it lets me rank back down or what do i need to do? lol Just asking so i dont go wasting gil and doing something wrong. =/ Thanks.

I'm pretty you need to talk to the WW guild to make WW your main craft. This will then cap your CC so it will no longer go past 60. I had to do this when I wanted to dlvl my Cooking as I leveled Smithing.

I went back and just traded the guy the item which ranked me up, but just to be safe am i ok to leave CC at craftsman?

You can actually continue to rank up/skill up in WW even with another craft thats higher. I did this when I leveled Gold and had to de-level my cooking from 96. It's been awhile but I'm pretty sure I was given the option by the Gold NPC to make a commitment to the Goldsmithing guild and he asked me if I wanted to de-level all other crafts and cap them at 60. This was when I wanted to break the 70 cap, and at this time I refused his offer but he just offered it to me again at 80 and I accepted.

I recently did this as well (yesterday). Talk to the Guild leader of the craft you want to take to 100 and if you have any crafts above Journeyman, the guild leader will ask you if you want to cap the other skills and commit to that guild.

thanks guys ^^ and yeah saithor i almost did that too lol, i managed to see the last sentence and was liek "uh..no" lol. but it was asking to bring my WW back to journeyman which confused me lol, thanks for the responses ^^
