    Borders of Windower window fragment

The game itself runs fine and dandy, but the outer edges immediately where the borders of the game are are fragmented and discolored to hell. I have no idea what happens ill post a pic when i get home from work. But if anyone has an idea what is going on help would be lovely.

I think I know what you are getting. If you run FFXI in windower mode then start up the program Windower you will get abunch of static on the bottom of your screen. Just turn off windower in the ffxi settings and restart the program Windower.

Sorry for the bump on this topic but this topic seems the closest to a problem I'm having. I just installed windower on my new laptop and it will resize a few times before starting up but ultimately have a black border around the FFXI screen itself. I installed the game from the vana'diel collection 2007 or whatever so there is no FFXI Config menu for some reason. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

I've had the same problem on another laptop. Laptop A has my original discs for FFXI installed with each individual expansion pack. Installing this way gives the "FFXI Config" folder in the start menu. Laptop B used the Collection Disk or whatever it's called, and for whatever reason, "FFXI Config" folder isn't in the start menu.

On Laptop A, I had the problem with the black border. Went into FFXI Config and SE windower was enabled, unclicking it made everything perfectly fine, no border and everything else was fine.

Now on Laptop B, the black border is there, but there's no FFXI Config to get rid of it. Some of the people advised this on the windower forum, but without the FFXI Config, I don't see how to fix this. Maybe using an older windower? I guess I'll give that a shot.

Know how to fix the problem that it randomly decides to encounter an error and close too? :/

Stupid question, but did you check the SE folder for FFXIConfig tool, not just the start menu?

    Default path is
    C:\Program Files\PlayOnline\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XI\ToolsUS\FINAL FANTASY XI Config.exe

Was not aware of that, but thank you. Turns out Windowed Mode wasn't even selected, so that's not going to fix the problem this time...

Fixed. Raigon I believe was his name had the right solution. E-rape for you.
