Wii Accessories Q/A & Video Game Accessories in General

I haven't seen a general topic for accessories so I figured I would make this along with some questions of my own. Also, feel free to add any awesome stuff you might have/had from current/previous systems.

First, I'm looking into getting House of the Dead for my Wii and I am debating whether or not to buy the Wii Zapper or look at others. I usually buy name brand when it comes to accessories because the quality is usually better, but I figured I would ask before I go drop some $'s on things.

Other accessories I was wondering about would be the PS3 Eye. I have a PS2 eye toy used for cheap but I wasn't sure if purchasing the PS3 Eye would be worth it at the moment. The same for the PS3 bluetooth headset. I've been using my USB PS2 Logitech one for LBP etc, but I've heard good things about the new one.

If anyone has a interesting/cool accessory or opinion on anything I've mentioned I'd love to hear some feedback. I appreciate any help I can get.

They had a gold box deal on Amazon like two days ago for a PS3 Eye for like 27 bucks. I've never used a PS2 Eye let alone the PS3 one. Can't tell you much about the Wii accessories. I tend to have a severe distaste for them as one could easily end up with a Rubbermaid bucket full of plastic pieces that you would have to dig through if you wanted to play a game.

I don't know how much you type on your PS3 or whether you have a keyboard for it or not, but on Nov. 30 the detachable keyboard for the Dualshock 3 comes out which for me personally will make my life incredibly easier while chatting in game.

From what I heard, 3rd party guns are actually better than the official zapper since they wanted to avoid the fiascos they had many years ago over the original zapper.

honestly, imo, skip all the rechargable piles from nyko or whatever and just get some plain ol lithium batteries. a pack of 12 lithium AA batteries should run you something like 20 dollars and will probably outlive the wii. figure lithium are supposed to last about 7x as long as regular and an average battery pair in a wiimote is clocked at about 30 hrs iirc. so 210 hrs on 1 pair and 6 pairs in a package makes for 1260 hrs of gameplay for 20 bucks. compare that to 50 bucks for a recharge station (plus the charge time for the batteries which always comes at the worst possible time) and you'd need to eek out 3150 hours of playtime to recoup the investment in a recharge station. also, if you've invested 3150 hours of playtime in your wii, your primary concern shouldn't be shaving a few pennies off battery life but finding some friends instead.

Depending on how you use the wiimote seems to affect battery life, too. Like, playing Twilight Princess seemed to have my rechargeables drain more quickly since you needed the nunchuck. Meanwhile, if I'm just using it as a simple controller for downloaded games, it can go a lot longer.
