rip video from dvd

I have to rip a video from a dvd to post on a website for my work but I have no idea how to do this as I've only ever burned dvd's. Basically I'm just wondering what program would I need to do this best?

Free, or not so free programs work too.

I use dvdshrink and I love it. Sorry, I don't have a link for it. Downloaded it a long time ago and don't remember where from exactly, but a quick Google search should get you to the right place. It's great for burning onto a dvd, but can also be used just for ripping. I'm not sure if the file type that you get will be good for putting on a webpage, might need a conversion tool for that which I don't have a good one to suggest. But dvdshrink is a good place to start for getting the video off in the first place. Good luck!

DVDShrink is no longer an option, but K9Copy works very well as it's open source substitute, as well as DVD Decrypter (also stopped being worked on, replaced by ImgBurn, but doesn't remove any copyright protection).

dvdshrink is still out there, but it's no longer supported or in development due to some legal issues or something in some country.
