The best part about mario three was saving the king with the weird costumes, and seeing the different text. Too bad it was hard as fuck to do as a kid.

Tanooki was just an enhanced feather..it didnt do shit. I can't think of many situation where turning into stone would be better than jumping.
Hammer bros suit on the other hand was totally broken.

At any rate, I guess I can agree to that. Tanooki is strong, but Hammer Bros. is stronger.

Tanooki suit actually helped in slippery situations... In that ice world I always turn into stone to make sure I don't slip.

Hammer suit FTMFW! Those hammers could kill everything, even the thwomps, and also you were fireproof when you ducked. The hammer suit is so awesome, the kings say "Hey, how about lending me your clothes? No dice?! What a drag."
