Incorrect PlayOnline password

halp!

i know the password thing got messed up in an update a whie ago and passwords were stated as incorrect when they infact were not. No one i know seems to have this issue anymore since it got "fixed" but i still get it now and again like after i DC or POL crashes.
Any info appreciated~

ok today it happened 5 times so after 3 i had to wait so many minutes just to try again then failed x2. pls someone help ; ;

do a file check on playonline. At the main menu, click file check, make sure playonline is selected then check files

No server/client authentication system fails that often. Replace your keyboard, type slower.

i dont type in my password its stored automatically. so when POL opens it goes straight into my account.. well.. it does if its not telling me my passwords wrong >.> i heard when it messed up you had to go into ff non windowed, type ur password and resave it. close POL then try again and it fixes the issue. well. ive done that about 40 times lol. its definately not a typing issue

did a file check. no errors found. n when i logged in after guess what?

Then you were probably hacked. >_>
Go to My Computer > C Drive > Windows (Sometimes WINNT) > system32 and look for a smart.dll.

It's a common virus if you don't use firefox/noscript to view FFXI sites...

ty for reply aella. not hacked can get in fine after like 2-5 attemps of shutting pol down and trying again (without retyping password). plus i use firefox and nonscript D: gonna ring POL tomo!
