How to find good levels?

Right now, it seems to me that there are tons of crap levels with seemingly no easy way to find the best ones out there

I also tried to search for PSN/World Name but seems like there's no such option available. Do you really have to befriend in PSN in order to find by PSN ID? Or am I blind and just can't see the option?

Befriending is usually the easiest way. Either that or I search on the cool levels, and just look for anything with thousands of plays or hundreds of hearts. Odds are if the level tags have a huge "Rubbish, Annoying, Frustrating" or any other such tag, it's a shitty level.

Yeah, it is still kind of hard to find top notch levels i think. You kind of just have to hunt around. I usually skip the "Cool Levels" button because right now a lot of those are still Trophy Levels. I tend to search a tag like Artistic or Beautiful instead. Make sure you heart any great levels you find, then anyone on your friend list will be able to find them (which is the other way i check for good levels... looking at what my friends have hearted).

People who make trophy levels should just be banned, quit flooding my Cool Levels search with that bullshit.

Doesn't the "cool level" search just pull up recently made levels?

Cool Level pulls up a lot of the top played and hearted levels, along with some new ones here and there. If you go to about page 10+ on the Cool Levels, you'll start to get into newer levels.

Personally, I sift through the LBP thread on NeoGAF at work and compile a list of levels to try out with my friend. There have a been a couple of bad levels so far but so many gems too.

I always thought the ones who had the bigger circles were the best ones, since I assume the bigger the circle the more it's been played/hearted/something to that extent?

Either way, those are the ones I play.

Alright, I just found out that you can actually search for people in the tags view (the search button is there). Made it a lot easier to find the levels people talk about on the Internet now! :D
