PS: I'd go warrior since they're the new OP!

Rogue rapes the DPS charts but can get shut out in PvP by certain classes almost without fail; Warrior also rapes DPS charts (but requires severe gear optimization to get there), but is more survivable in PvP, and is near unstoppable if you have a healer backing you up.

That's always been my experience, anyway, but I'm not up to speed with LK changes to both classes to know if it's any different now.

If you're doing PvP solo, rogue is better. If you expect to have a healbot, then warrior it is. Rogue can take care of themselves/escape a LOT better than warrior. Warrior is basically kill or be killed.

At low levels warrior doesn't seem terribly impressive in PvP, my 26 paladin comfortably killed a 30 tauren warrior 1v1 yesterday morning. What changes later to make them OP?

Can't really compare 20's PVP to 70-80. Not sure how to explain what changes, a lot of things I guess.

plate armor, 2k+ AP unbuffed, and 30% crit npnp sounds pretty fun to me, and your a pally, things with heals can outlive a warrior yes. but mostly just pallies

Are there particular abilities that warrior gets later that makes a defining change to them, or is it more an accumulation of stats over time? I ask because I have plans for a gnome warrior later maybe.

Pallys seem pretty OP atm in PVP and DPS. I tanked a few of the newer instances as ret and have done 1v1 against 78~79 rogues/warriors as a 72 human pally and wasn't even close to dying.

Me and my disc priest friend have fought up to 5 people at once around our level range ( 72-73 ) and totally destroyed the group.

It's true, 80% of my characters are midgets when they're an option, now and then I go for something huge though, I'd probably play a Tauren if I rolled Horde for example.

As soon as I get my pc problems fixed and start back playing, probably roll a gnome ice mage, thats what I played before and loved it, although a dwarf paladin seems like it could be fun.

Yeah, definitely the abilities they get. And as a paladin you're one of the strongest classes against a warrior, too.

    Obligatory plug for mage.

Arcane mage absolutely rapes. I have no problem killing 72ish people at 67 right now. Warriors are a joke, DKs are even funnier. Arcane mage gets a whole lot better at 70 when you get Arcane Barrage rank 2 which deals a flat 1k damage instead of 400ish of the current arcane barrage.

Warning: people will bitch at you because they think it takes little skill; but show them they are wrong (right?) with another arcane barrage to the face followed by a 4k instacast pyroblast to the gonads.

Warriors don't get their high damage instant attacks until level 40. Until then levelling a warrior is PURE. AGONY.

    Warrior and Mage.

I have a rogue, and right now I do seem to get picked out of a crowd fairly fast, and focused fairly often, and have been having trouble with certain classes (more than I used to anyway).

As a warrior, without a healbot, easily top damage in any BG. Just walk into a group and bladestorm, rediculous. With a healer, you are a machine. Mages are really really annoying as well now, they can do so much damage in such a short time, and 1 on 1 have lot's of ways to keep you away from them. Also, if you plan on doing instances, or raiding, which you will somewhat im sure even 5mans, then warrior and mage are pretty valuable. Always a need for tanks, and I would take a mage before most other dps classes if I was pugging.

Can I tank normal instances with the DPS tree? What tree should I spec for DPS/PVP? What tree should I spec for tanking? What weapon should I use as well for both scenarios?
