    Couple questions..

Couple questions since I'm just starting up WoW..

the first one you should all know I'm going to ask..

    ..Gear swaps? (lol)
Can I do it, scripting to do it if so?

and... can I shield block while I'm not engaged or facing away from a monster (so basicly is shield block gear and Str important while kiting, because if not it would be better to add defense and Stamina no?)
    Thanks~

You can only swap weapon/shield/ranged during combat. You're locked from it otherwise. Someone else can tell you how to macro it, I haven't found the need to so far and usually have an addon (Itemrack) do it for me anyway.

You can only shield block from in front of you. But you don't turn your back on any mob dangerous enough to kite (exception: Anub'rekan in Naxx) so don't see this is a big deal.

You can put equip into macros with either:

    /equip <item name here>

    or:

    /equipslot<item slot number> <item name here>

You would only need to use the second one if you have an item that could fit in multiple slots, like a trinket, ring, dual-wieldable weapon, etc. and you want it in a certain slot.

You don't really need to swap equip in combat much in wow, if ever for most classes. A rogue might want to keep a bow/xbow equipped for for the stats, than macro in a throwing weapon into deadly throw, or macro a dagger into ambush. DPS/PVP warriors will want to macro a shield into spell reflect. A hybrid class might want to switch between dps/tanking/spell weapons in combat in some situations. That's about it.

Really rare to gear swap for most classes outside of PVP(warriors for sword&board once in a while and spellreflect) and in some instances when tank dies and in an ohshit moment the dps warrior sword and boards.

But you cant swap armor in combat, and you don't need to. If you want to go from tanking to dpsing, or healing to whatever, you go to a city and change talent specs and get out your other full set of gear. There aren't pieces that stay in for multiple specs or situations really... except for maybe a resist set you equip before a fight, or some extra of some stat before a fight... but it's always before a fight.

additional, you have the 1.5s GCD penalty after you swap the shield for shield slam or spell reflect. So this also make the gear swap is not useful in the game.

For out of combat gear swapping you can just use addons, personally I use Outiffter. It's really simple and easy to use.
