    Suikoden Released on PlayStation Network

I haven't seen anyone mention it yet, (just got the email myself from PSN), but it's $5.99 and if you've never played it I suggest you give it a playthrough. I'm actually pretty psyched it's so cheap b/c I've been having trouble finding a affordable copy to own, since I sold mine a long long time ago. Anyway, I figured I would pass it along.

Fantastic. This was one of only a few RPGs that I played, enjoyed, and never bothered to purchase. It had slipped through my fingers, but no more!

Question for PS3/PSP owners. Are PS1 games from the PSN playable on the PSP? IF so, I think I may finally pick the handheld up for portable Suikoden.

I'm kind of curious myself. I'm going to be picking up a PSP after this weekend and I want to mod it / DL lots of PS1 titles. Is there anything I should watch out for Xav? I noticed people saying you couldn't mod the new PSPs?

Yes. All of the Ps1 games can be play on the PSP. You'll need to get an eboot version of that game, which available pretty much everywhere after some digging. I got most of mine at pspiso.com

Yep, you don't need any special modification to play PSN-bought PS1 games on PSP.

Probably being a little bit biased due to the nostalgic factor but one of the best RPG's ever.

I heard it was good but never got a chance to play it, I hope it eventually goes on PAL stores if it hasn't already. The same applies for Xenogears, I really really want that game to show up on the PSN store someday.

It might be a tough sell without at least a little nostalgia backing it up, but I loved Suikoden at the time of its release.

Never had a chance to play Suikoden I(Turkish 1$ PS game-pirates skip that first one for some reason!). Defnitely gonna check it out.
Will probably take months to complete though. Still haven't started w/ Chrono Trigger and Castlevania.

Suikoden is a great game. Wait until Julian notices this thread, he could probably write an essay about it.

I've already seen this thread, and I have no comment on this.

Well, ok, I have one. They should have just released the Suikoden1+2 slightly-enchanted-port that they made for the PSP.

I'm not paying $5 or w/e for a game I already have. I would have gladly payed $30 or $40 or however much a PSP game costs for the slightly-enchanted port which would have had bug fixes and a translation that wasn't written by a 9 year old.

Probably the same as Castlevania SOTN.
I owned several copies of both Suikoden and made quite a buck on Ebay off it while still retaining one copy for myself. The selling price is going to be non-existent for anyone at this point minus the collectivist if II is also released on PSN.

I still own my copy of Suikoden I and II, but by the now the disc is scratched to hell so it'll be nice to have a fully working version. Suikoden I holds up well today, as does II, but I'm sure nostalgia has a lot to do with it. One of the things that is good about it though is that even if nostalgia factors in it's still a great game when replaying it.
