    that's not app and iirc it wasn't a normal ingame command in the GM handbook so probably just a moron trying to scare you

    since you communicate thru an intermediary (SE's servers) no local command could get your network details to attempt to locate you that i can think of. it's just some moron trying to sound cool. besides, iptraceroute? seems like he's trying too hard to sound like he knows what he's talking about. when was the last time you tried to trace someone by their IPX address?

    only way someone will even attempt/get a chance to get your ip through ffxi servers through the game would be if your name was "Oh i forgot this guy's name that did all the crazy stuff" =p

    damn i hate csi and all those other shows. every third idiot thinks he's a computer genius b/c he can toss around tech words he sees on the show. scotty! reroute power through the phase conjugate bipolar neeblefreutzer! YES! i'm now a fully qualified space ship engineer after that sentence!

    I kinda chuckle at their completely useless GUI they use for their made-up applications in those TV Shows myself . Sure all their applications borderline on the stupid or just plain unuseable but at least it makes you smirk and laugh a tad.
