Cheesehoarder still soloable?

I used to do Cheesehoarder low-man, or solo if nobody around. Pop it, drag to center room, stay there, keep DoT on and links magically vanished at the entrances to the room. This was last summer.

From what I hear, they changed him a while ago. Supposedly he goes unclaimed, regens a lot or just depops. And his links don't depop anymore. Is this true?

I really want to kill him, but I fear he won't go down as easily as he once did.

links will always depop if you're either of the eastern rooms.

i think cheesehoarder deaggroing depends on where you stand in the room, but i'm not sure.

I've never had cheese hoarder deaggro if the person who popped it never died or zoned or d/ced or anything that would remove them from hate list. The normal deaggro rule for plain mobs is that they'll follow for 30 seconds while out of tracking range before giving up, I'm pretty sure them deaggroing has nothing to do with the room itself so much as that they have to walk more than 30 seconds to get there. I don't know if cheesehoarder himself was patched, but I'd bet a testicle that the links still depop since a very basic and widespread game mechanic causes it. It's worth noting that rage will trigger after about an hour, and all your nukes will be full resisted after that if it's not dead yet so you should try to hurry.

So you think I can still (low-man, heck last summer I asked a WHM to spam Banish, and did great damage) kill it by camping in the portal room (where you arrive from others portals) and he won't depop or go unclaimed?

i have duo'd this with a friend and we were in the portal room there was another group there aswell as us, everytime he ran off we had to rest up mp etc so he would go out of range, but they would always have someone follow it and they never took claim of us so i assume it wont turn yellow or depop just from runing with bombs and then back to portal.

Just did him twice, 2/2. Total like 25/25 or so rofl. Hasn't changed, I'm so happy!! Now to solo Iriz Ima and I can do Gotoh Zha :D

It can, just stay close to the telepad when kiting. You probably won't get a lot of nukes off if you're 'soloing'.

But as said, you need to have more than one person on the hatelist.
If you use the NE room, 1 person on the hatelist will have him deaggro a good while before he comes back to you (if he runs far, of course). However, 2 people on the list will make him deaggro JUST outside the room, where 3 will make him go all the way. If you have an afk alt on the hatelist, make sure to pull it fast enough to not deaggro just outside the room, or the alt will have to re-apply hate.

It's an extremely easy fight, just pretty lengthy solo, especially with no W.Legs.

Note: If you feel you've taken too long, and it's about to/have raged, you can just let it deaggro just outside the room, since that will reset its rage timer completely. Just make sure you get on the hatelist with your alt again.
(Remember, this only works with 2 people on the hatelist.)

I kite him fine w/o W.Legs. When I Blizz III I lose a shadow or 2, but nothing spectacular.

The pull, I lose a shadow or 2-3. Once I start cutting corners he can't hit me anymore. So you don't NEED mov+, but it sure helps lol.

Oh and previous poster said that 2 ppl will make him deaggro just outside room: this is false. I duo'ed him RDM RNG last night in about 45 minutes. RNG kept missing >.> But still helped though.

I solo it on DRK/NIN around the port at F8/G8-F9/G9 in roughly 20 mins and faster if it's Darksday. Bio 2, Poison 2, Drain, Drain 2, Dread Spikes when it's up, keeping refresh gear on. I do use W.legs but it's possible without them, just a little more tedious.

Yes it can the only problem i found without movement speed+ was the pull tbh, but after that its fine its really easy just keep kiteing around the portal.

Yeah, there was a mention of using Hermes Quencher upon pop in the other thread of soloable ZNMs. A bit expensive, but meh.

any halfass soloer has a few pairs of powder boots sitting around for pulls/etc, much cheaper over time than hermes

do doesn't mean solo, go away poof you can bio kite gotoh but it'll cure itself pretty much indefinitely and you're bound to get fucked by a firespit eventually

I got my naglering!!! Shouted for 2 hours and got 19 ppl, 1/2 on Naglering. Gotoh Zha is badass, but 19 ppl can handle it easily.
