    Logitech mouse wheel not scrolling

Everything on the mouse works(including clicking on the wheel and dragging the page down) atm except the wheel scroll. I just swapped to this mouse because my other one is having trouble with the left clicker (Have to press incredibly hard to get it to click). I'm using a Logitech: Wheel Mouse if that helps.

    Unplug, plug it back in.

Happens to my 5 year old microsoft mouse (laser) sometimes. See if that helps. Do it 3-4 times before giving up. It always works for me by the 3rd try (I travel so I unplug it often and sometimes plugging it back in it doesn't immediately work, the scroll wheel that is. Everything else does.)

Damn, not much of an idea then. I doubt it needs drivers either...

open it up and get out a can of air. most likely, there is a small photoreceptor that monitors the wheel spokes. as it detects the ir beam being repeatedly broken and restored by the spokes, it can count the rotation of the wheel. printers and many other devices use very similar receptors to detect paper jams, open doors, etc. sometimes these things can get gunked up w/ dust, grease from your fried chicken you ate at your computer, toner in printers, etc. bust out a can of air and spray it GENTLY. try to lift whatever gunk is on your optics with that air and spin your wheel up. while it's sure no guarantee (you could have damaged a wire somehow, broken the optics, or one of a huge list of other things) but if this mouse is not scrolling across multiple computers (i assume you tried it on other computers) this may be a good first thing to try.

no go on the air ><

Edit: Sprayed the one I was replacing with the air while I had it out and now the clicker is working fine.
