Web/Mobile Game Clients?

Reading about the lackluster Community Pages update over in the Advanced forum got me thinking about how SE has really missed the boat on integrating web and mobile access for in-game functions. Things like crafting, gardening, raising chocobos, and AH functions are solitary endeavors and could all be done via a web or mobile client and not take away any of the fun that comes from playing a MMO.

Obviously it's too late for FFXI to benefit from this sort of development work, but maybe it's not too late in the development cycle of the next MMO for SE to start thinking about this stuff. Is this something people would be interested in seeing/using? What type of impact do you think it'd have? What other sorts of ideas can you crazy folks come up with to bring elements of the game into the Real World? Think about what type of mobile/geo technologies are out there and what sort of website mashups might you be interested in to augment your gaming experience.

One off the top of my head - why not extend the Mog House into Playstation Home in some way?

Really, BG? No thoughts, inputs, creative ideas? There's a genuine lack of interest in these sorts of things?

Years back SE was asked about the possibility of a game/app for the PSP that would do something similar, if I recall the question correctly it was AH-based.

SE said they had no plans at this time. I wish they'd man up for certain questions and just say "We aren't going to do that. Ever."

PSP side client that allows you to do simple tasks that effect you in game, mayhaps similiar to chocobo racing but instead:

Trade the egg to npc, and then receive password, then log in through psp daily to check up on your bird, and do racing etc, and finally reap the rewards, while doing stuff in your normal game.

I could definitly see big potential through something like that, and would most certainly spend 20 bucks or so on a psp client.
