    Merging HD partitions

Ok I'm not a computer savy person by any stretch of the imagination but I do have a question.

I just found out that my harddrive is partition so I really only have 88 gigs of Useable Storage while the other D: drive is just sitting there with over 90 gigs free. Is there a way to merge them without having to buy Partition magic or similar software? and if there is can someone Link me a guide to do it?

    Thanks in advance guys.

You can always merge partition of active OS, even tho it's not the best thing to do while the OS is running.

But if you wanna do it

Right click on My computer then click manage.

In the new box click on Disk management and you will see you HDD, Right click the Partition you want enlarge and click on um (forgot the english term think it's enlarge or resize). Then write the new value, Then you will see your unallocated space go down.

When it's done if you do it that way i suggest you do a defrag right after.

Resizing your OS by adding space should be fine but not removing space on OS while it's active.

    Hope this helps

If you're using a 32bit OS, you could use Easeus Partition Manager Free Edition:
