    Dual monitor question

So I have a Radeon 4850 and tried to set it up for 2 monitors. My main screen is a 42 in lcd and I wanted to use a 20 in lcd as a second monitor. The problem I am having is that when I set it up, everything worked as planned for about 30 min (before I tried to run anything on the second, just blank). I put my POL screen onto the second monitor. Then bam, windows would freeze. Won't work at all now. Both screen flash black and then will come back and not respond.

My question is, how do I recover my POL screen back to my main monitor? Is there a command to throw a program back to the middle of the screen? It is currently unaccessable via mouse, but fully responsive with keyboard.

Yes, running windower. The windower startup screen appears on my monitor, but the actual POL is stuck on the second that is not hooked up anymore.

so let me get this straight.

    both monitors are working
you drag pol onto 2nd screen and everything locks up
    main screen comes back
    2nd screen is still blank
pol is still on 2nd screen and you can't bring it back because you can't see your mouse (but your mouse can potentially go over there?)

    1. Hooked up both monitors. Got everything the way I liked it.
    2. Dragged POL onto second screen.
    3. Both screens flash then freeze. Have to shut down by holding down power button.
    4. Unplug 2nd monitor. Launch windower. POL still on second screen.
    5. Attempt to hook up 2nd monitor again to retrieve POL. Windows freezes again.

I can not access the 2nd screen. My mouse wants to go over there but cannot. Tried right clicking and moving it, no luck.

If you open the ATI control panel up, you can see the display option and you can disable the second monitor which will shift everything back to main monitor.

make sure to restart without 2nd montior plugged in
otherwise go into the display properties and disable the 2nd monitor. it should push everything back onto the first.

i would test this but i don't have a windows machine anymore XD

Some programs' windows stuck outside of viewable screen. - EXTREME Overclocking Forums

this is why i changed to a mac. multiple sources have used this solution as well.

right click on the window's button in the taskbar and then you click on "Move", you can just use the left or right arrow keys and it will move the window.

Well I figured it out. Not really but was able to get it back. Plugged in 2nd and moved viewer before it could crash. Then shut down windows to save it.

Well you've already solved it. But anyway, what I do is (when I'm too lazy to turn the second monitor on to drag it over to the first monitor) is if you have program in the tool bar, right click it, and select "Move", this will put your mouse directly over the top drag bar of the program and hold down the left mouse button and drag it to where you want. Unless of course you couldn't even take your mouse off screen to get to the other screen. But anyway, glad to see you managed to get the POL window back.

The whole move thing is easier if you do this, right click pick move, hit an arrow key and then just move the mouse. The window will move without you needing to click until you want to stop it from being attached to the cursor. I do this when i'm too lazy to turn on the 2nd monitor.
