Well the article says PC & PS3. The title is conflicting with the article I guess.
Edit: Also, if this is true, LOLXbox360 limitations
Think, 5 or 6 years from now we'll be saying lolPS3 limitations.
I have complete faith that this will be a letdown.
Any fellow BG'ers going to this years E3 and planning on posting live updates ?_?
I know 3 people going but they're all going there to work, not to collect goodies from other booths.
Also lolconsoleMMOs.
E3 is not open to the public. They may give away E3 trips, though I don't think they do.
I wouldn't say that. If there's anything SE is capable of doing it's atleast delivering a unique MMO experience. That may be debateable but too many MMOs feel like other MMOs with more bells and whistles these days. I've played pretty much every MMO that has come out and my days on XI had to be some of the best times I had.
Whether or not SE provides a unique and fun game experience is nearly besides the point, the most enduring problems with SE's existing MMO IP are their miserable community management skills. If Rapture is a letdown the fault will not lie with the game's graphics or playability, which is entirely up to player preference as I don't know a lot of people still in the market for that one best MMO to take up the hours of their day.
E3 Expo 2009 Attendee Registration
Welcome to Attendee Registration. Please note that E3 Expo is a trade-only event and is not open to the general public. Individuals who are not able to document their direct, and current professional affiliation to the interactive entertainment industry are not qualified to attend. If you are from the retail sector, you must be selected by your parent company to attend.
SE has made leaps and bounds lately, so I don't see where this is coming from. Their only (IMO) major mistake with XI was not separating the communitys. If this is taken care of (and hopefully they learned from XI...) I'm sure the NA community will be much more involved in the direction of the game from the get go. While we were largely ignored at first, they actually were very involved with the japanese players; whom are modest and not very outspoken people so it explains a lot about their PR skills.
The major mistake with FFXI was not giving a shit about the community at all. They haven't improved lately, but have actually gotten worse in some regards. I could understand them being poor at community relations years ago, when they were new to online gaming, but... it's been seven years. They haven't caught on by now. They never will.
I'd imagine that a large majority of FFXI players only stay for the friendships they've made and/or addiction to the game. I certainly won't be starting any new SE MMORPGs after six years of FFXI assfuckery.
Poor community relations or not, I still think this'll be something quite amazing (=not being a WoW-clone is all it takes to be that these days). I guess I think so it's because I've never really had much a problem with SE when it comes to XI. And that's why I'm fanboy etc. Yeah, sure lol.
