Cat get's shot with an arrow in the head and lives. I think it's pretty sad someone would do that, but pretty amazing that it lived.

oh god that is one nasty-looking wound... well, technically two. damn. glad it survived.
There was another case in the Toronto area a week or so ago:
Cat Impaled with Crossbow Bolt
A cat is recovering in a Mississauga veterinary hospital after being found impaled with an 18-inch crossbow arrow in its torso. Toronto Police Staff Sergeant Andy Schneider said the male cat made its way to a home in the Highway 427 and Rexdale Boulevard area and started scratching at the front door at around 9:45 Saturday night. Police were called and the animal was brought to the Mississauga Oakville Veterinary Emergency Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The cat is now expected to survive. "As of yesterday it was eating and they were doing some more observations. It's expected to recover," said Sgt. Schneider. He added that it's not uncommon for the police to find injured or dead animals in the area, but "in my 28 years at the police I've never seen anything like this. I can't believe how someone could be so cruel."
While i feel badly for the cat, and think the person who did it is a horrible human being...
They mentioned in the news story that the infection from the arrow was 3 days old. Im not speaking from experience as im a dog person, but is it normal for cat owners to not see their cat for days at a time, or is the owner just negligent/ignorant/whathaveyou?
Noob huntsman spammers, not even fully charging the shot.
I wonder if the cat was meowing all night, and it gave someone a headache? If so, then it would be the owners fault for the cat getting shot.
usually peaks around the beginning of bow season.
Arrowhead, lol.
Heh, I was thinking they were going to share this link:I know we've been talking a lot about animal cruelty today, but with stories like these, it doesn't hurt to share the link about the ASPCA again.

This proves that cats are half demon just like Keanu said!
Cats evolved to be tough.
Also a dog person here, but we always had 2-4 cats at a time when I was a kid. We kept them outside, mostly in our family barn to keep the mice at bay. It was mostly the males and almost always when the females were pregnant or had kittens. If they didn't leave, the females would run them off when they were about to have the kittens. They'd come back after the kittens were old enough that we would be giving them away to other families.
From my experience, cats are like the polar opposite of dogs. Very self sufficient, but rarely want much human interaction. I'm sure an indoor cat could be different, but this cat (from Indiana) could very likely be mostly an outdoor cat.
My cat used to be an outdoor cat, really only came in if he wanted cat food or affection. Not seeing him for 24 hours was pretty standard, and at 48 you start to get worried but there's really not a lot you can do to look for them. Cats tend to roam pretty far; mine used to like to hang out down storm drains and stuff. When they disappear for a period, you really just hope they'll come back and maybe after a few days or so you post up fliers and/or assume the cat is probably dead somewhere.
If only the cat had an arrow
There was another case with a duck (or goose not sure) that got an arrow through the skull as well and survived. If I recall, they survive due to the fact that the arrow completely misses important sections of the brain and passes through many "hallow" chambers (once again not sure, but this is how I heard it.)
Deadpool also survived an arrow through his head.
