What classes/builds do you enjoy playing?
Simple question really.
I love character creation just as much as anything else, just curious to see what kinds of things people like to do when creating their character. Feel free to map out levels, feats, etc.
Post more later, work now

You think this is the real Dmitry?
Re: What classes/builds do you enjoy playing?
I haven't had the luxury of being able to play a long enough campaign to have a developed character, but in general I like to play the sneaky, rogue-like characters.

Re: What classes/builds do you enjoy playing?
(3e, going to assume Iron Heroes and such systems do not count)
Two character types mainly, only pre-15ish. Don't enjoy anything higher.
1) Daring, tumbling polearm user who makes brutal use of AoOs while being immune to them. Jump right into the middle of battle and become a wall of pain for anyone who attempts to get passed you. Minions become your favorite food.
2) Spell caster who solves problems with illusions and creative use of spells and environment rather than full out power. Not always effective, but so satisfying when so.
Too lazy to map out levels and feats. Maybe I will if other people do it. Also, I'm usually willing to play anything to fill any voids. So yeah... Clerics, woo.
EDIT: When I say minions in 1) I am still talking about 3e. So not the mechanic in 4e, but generally weaker enemies with low health, AC, etc.

Re: What classes/builds do you enjoy playing?
I'm pretty open for anything, really. It depends on my mood.
The last campaign I played a rather obnoxious damage dealing, charging Psiwarrior with a dip into barbarian (plus a class variant that gave me pounce instead of fast movement.) We made it to level 11 before we finished the adventure. After power attacking/leap attacking etc. I was doing something like [(5d6+33) + (2d6+33)] damage on a charge assuming I wasn't buffed or spend power points on adding extra d6s and what not.
This new campaign I rolled a hexblade and I'm specializing in debuffing saves/attack rolls, etc.
Took feats like intimidating strike and brutal strike. Took the class variant for a dark companion that gives -2 to saves and ac to adjacent enemies. Stack those with the hexblade curse and it's -10 to saves, attack rolls, skill checks and ability checks.
I like to do something a little different every campaign, keeps it fresh.

I think I must be 3 editions out of date, last played tabletop AD&D back in 1983 but I've been getting into NWN2 recently as I retire from FFXI.
In AD&D it was always Magic-user/Thief, and in NWN now it's Arcane Trickster.
I still have a set of first-edition books hanging around somewhere. Guess I'm getting old.

I normally like playing a Magic-User when I play a campaign. Me and my buddies from work actually started a 3.5 campaign... Have had to read up on it alot since I am used to 2nd edition rules and prefer it >_> but hey, something new.

I like 3.5 ed rogues, fighters, and clerics, and am currently playing a 1st "box set" ed. elf. 3.5 ed I like to play pretty much straight rogue/fighter/cleric except for the samurai I rolled (and mentioned in this forum). I had a pretty awesome goblin rogue which got to lvl 10, I think if I'd gone further than 10 I would have started subclassing to fighter to get some cool fighter things. But yeah. pure clerics are awesome, as are pure fighters.
As for 1st ed, elf is cool but it exp's so slowly, which is super lame when you have an awesome RP session one night but only gain 350 exp because you only killed like 4 things.
This is why later editions are better, well ones where you get exp for good handling of situations as opposed to killing everything and stealing everything! Also all my party are like lvl 5-6 and I'm stuck level 4 even though I have more exp than they do :~( I want 3rd lvl spells!!

I tended to play light armored, speedy characters. Rogues, rangers, or monks with the occasional Bard or Mage in there.
Back when I was younger and played a lot, my favorite class to play was Monk from 1rst edition...I'm old. But my GM at the time would only let me play those in lowbie adventures because of how wtf OP they got at higher levels.

Late to the thread, but hey, I'm on a posting spree!
I love playing strange combinations and making them work. My first one was a dwarf druid. XD
I was ugly as hell, and my owl was always drunk off his ass... or wings... whatever. But it was lots of fun!
I love playing healer, which is part of why I have issues with 4th Ed - the healing surges made my cleric job useless.

I used to gravitate to using Barbarian/Berserker classes. Depending on my mood, I'd either go for dual wielding axes or a big ass hammer and loading up on self/team buffs and opening can on anything in my way. My friend was an asshole Rogue that would overpower himself with a flail and try to kill me first, by the end of a campaign, he'd steal everyone's dexterity and kill anything within a 30' radius around him. (kind of why I stopped playing lol)
