Do these guys have reduced HP like other pets, or normal?

normal, and as far as I can remember all pets in ToAU areas have normal or close to normal HPs .

Pets have the same amount of HP as the pets in the old areas that was fixed a while ago but Automatons have normal HP they always had.

This was adjusted a few patches back so that mmj's wyvern and raptors have reduced HP like normal pets. I believe automatons are still full strength though.

haven't tried these since they adjusted beastmen pets..

if you're thinking of soloing them, one thing to note about these is that they seem to have very high resistance to sleep... or just simply cannot be slept...
its been years since i last fought one of these tho so theres a high chance that i could be wrong. guess i should go and test this

Also, automatons are the same level as their master. If the troll is IT the automaton will be too, unlike other pets where they're lower level.

I know the archer, and mage are extremely resistant if not immune. The harlequin is immune to ES + dark sleep not sure about light sleep though.

Don't forget, as an automaton, it will use it's weaponskills at 100ish% TP regardless of it's hp remaining. Feed it TP too fast and you might even find it self skillchaining you.

They can all be lullabied easily so I'd assume repose will work. Not killed trolls much in like a year now though.

lol yeah we used to merit in MtZ troll camps and kill the ones near Big Bomb when farming pop items, automatons killed a lot of unsuspecting melees. Valoredge is a bish with couple of double attacks followed by self skillchain.

I don't think they use the newer ones. SE's isn't known for going back and adding new JA's to older mobs in general. There are a few exceptions, but they usually don't do it for normal mobs.

Often BLM burns on puddings will pull in the automaton for an extra chain #. They do not have the normal pet strength reduction.

This isn't quite true. OMW to zhayolm puddings as BLM, i frequently see IT PUPs w/ VT automatons.
