Obama gets first Supreme Court pick

Souter is out. Pick unlikely to shift leaning.

Will be interesting to see who he picks.

Supreme Court is serious business, even if they don't seem like a huge player in day to day life.

This is the primary reason I voted for him. Don't fuck this up, Barack.

Unfortunately, Souter, Ginsberg and any of the other judges with a probability of leaving during at least 4 years (and maybe 8 ) are all already on the liberal/moderate side.

BO might get to make a few picks, but not likely ones that will change the outcomes and swing any 4-5's over to 5-4's.

The abortions will be preformed right after the mandatory gay marriages.

One or two liberal positions in a sea of conservative ones does not a liberal make.

Bush senior picked some doozies for the conservative side.

Yeah Souter was a stealth pick - but then again no one really knew his leanings until he was on the bench, not even the Dems.

Bush 41's other nominees were Robert Bork (FAIL) and Clarence Thomas.

I guess it's just a numbers game on the 'stealth' appointees. Only two of the justices appointed in the last four decades were appointed by a Democrat. We need a larger sample size. :D
