[Ifrit] CherryCola- Everything-but-land-kings LS looking to hit the ground running.

WHO WE ARE

We're the LS with the orange pearl that totally doesn't match the LS name at all.

We're also a group of friends on Ifrit server that decided to get into endgame- and realized that (most) serious endgame linkshells have attendance and time requirements that simply can't be met by the more casual player or weekend warrior due to the stupid monkey on everyone's back called real life.

So, we decided to make an LS of our own that does everything but the ground HNMs (Faf, Aspid, Khim, Cerb- you get the idea. If you'd like a D.Ring or Ridill, you'll want to look elsewhere- no invisible Darters or Meteorites here. )

We're friendly and drama-free, and would strongly prefer to remain that way- drama will be quashed in short order. We also tend towards silliness, so a well-developed (sometimes twisted) sense of humor is good.

At the moment the linkshell is primarily U.S. Pacific time (GMT-8 ) players, but feel free to apply regardless of time zone. Please note that ALL cross-server applicants will be put up for a background check on BlueGartr.

WHAT WE DO

We're just starting out and looking to get a stable roster of people together to get an idea of everyone's playtimes so that we can start regularly scheduling our events. Eventually we want to do Einherjar, Dynamis, ZNMs, KSNMs, Salvage, Nyzul, sky, sea-- you get the idea, most everything FFXI has to offer aside from the ground HNMs. Our initial goal is to start Nyzul and one other event a week (that we’ll choose with a LS vote,) and then branch out from there as we get members and have a better idea of everyone’s playtime. We don’t want to have more than a maximum of 3 events a week, though, so we’ll be rotating from week to week. (The one note is that at the moment most of us are doing Dynamis on Sundays and Wednesdays at 7:30 EST with VandalLights, though that may change as we get more members.)

Here's where we really differ from most endgame shells- attendance to events is NOT mandatory. In fact, you only need to attend roughly 50% of events to be able to keep your full tier standings and points. This simple difference is what drove us to start CherryCola in the first place- some breathing room for both real and in-game lives. See the application for more info. In fact, you don’t even need to make that quota with prior arrangements with the management; just let one of us know what’s up and missing an event likely won’t go on your record.

Also, we'd love you to full-time our pearl but if you find a social LS you enjoy, feel free to wear their pearl whenever you're not eventing with us.

So you want to join us, eh? What's the next step?

-First, please fill out our application to the best of your ability over at our forums - the more detail the better. (And please pardon the rough layout.) Remember, it's our first impression of you (especially if you're a cross-server applicant) so try and make the best one possible! The rules and the application template are both stickied under the General Forums (click on 'Forums' on the upper left; ) just copy and paste the app into a reply there please. Also feel free to PM me here or our website with any questions you might have.

-Within 24 hours, the application will be looked at by an admin. Myself or one of the sackholders will leave a response post after looking it over as to whether the application is Rejected, Under Consideration or Strongly Under Consideration. This is also the point where cross-server applicants will have a background check posted on BlueGartr, so please be totally honest about previous names/servers.

Rejected is, well, rejected, but we'll try and detail exactly why you were rejected so that you can work on whatever caused the denial and reapply later, hopefully with success.

Under Consideration means that the application will be put to a full vote of the linkshell, with a two-thirds majority voting yes meaning a trial offer will be extended. This vote will be conducted within 48 hours of the application being put up.

Strongly Under Consideration means that barring a bad background check on BlueGartr in the case of a cross-server applicant, a trial will likely be extended to you pending a majority of sackholders and myself looking over the app and approving. This will be finished within 48 hours of the application being put up.

A trial offer with the linkshell was extended- what now?

-In the case of a cross-server applicant, we'd love to see you create a mule on Ifrit before the actual transfer though it's not a have-to. We'll give the mule a pearl and you can see how we interact in LS, how things are run, etc. firsthand and really, truly decide whether the transfer is something that you want to go through with. If it is, once you've finished the transfer your character will be given a pearl. (It's also a good way to change your name if you decide to start on a new server with a new name.)

-Once you're given a pearl, you will be accepted on a probationary basis for one month. What does that mean?

Being on probation means that you'll only be able to lot things that are declared freelot by those running events, but you will also begin accumulating linkshell points at the same rate as a regular LS member that can be put into our weighted tier system upon acceptance as a full member. You will also be able to purchase items at the discount linkshell rates (i.e. Wootz Ore from Dynamis.) In other words, the more you show up, the more points you earn for later (and the better chance you have of getting accepted for a full membership.)

-At the end of the monthlong probationary period, a vote of the linkshell members and sackholders will be taken on your full membership. The membership will either be granted or refused based on a number of factors, the biggest being the linkshell vote. There is, however, a chance that it may be decided to give you a second month's probationary period to try and prove yourself instead of a flat refusal. If the membership vote still fails after the second probationary period, you will no longer be considered for membership.

Just realized there's no event timeframe offered...that's because we're not totally certain yet, but we'd like to operate roughly in a 7-8 PM-10-11 PM EST(ish) window, eventing at least 2-3 times a week in rotating events- again, exact event times will be determined by our members when we have a slightly larger group together and can really begin planning runs seriously, but it won't be any earlier than that for certain.

We'll probably also look at running some events at screwy times when we can (particularly on the weekends) to accomodate people's screwy work or life schedules (i.e. people that work overnights so are effectively EUs timewise, etc.)
